Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Forget striker for a second, our options out wide, in the middle and at full back are utterly abysmal. We’ve got four reasonable strikers, adding another one and serving him with Harrison, Doucoure, Gueye, Mykolenko and Young is gonna make zero difference.

We need a proper wide man, a proper center mid and two new starting full backs.
Finally! this!

Two full backs with pace, right wing with pace, center midfield with a footballing brain to break down teams ---- then a center forward (as we have four plus N'diaye)

Plus, change of manager, hoof ball to one forward whilst being marked by three people with no one running past for the knock on isn't working

Don't see us bringing in a winger tbh, will depend on who the new manager is and how they want too play. I think most modern managers understand that pinging crosses into a target man doesn't work anymore, its Dyche that doesn't. I wouldn't be surprised if we target more of a ball carrier or wide playmaker type rather than an out and out winger.

Our right-hand side I think is the weakest part of the field for us, working with Harrison who is left footed, Lindstrom who isn't suited to this league, McNeill whose right foot is for standing on only, Ashley Young who is about 80 and our most consistent player at the moment and Pattison who our brain-dead manager doesn't like and isn't a good defender plus Seamus who has been pastured out for stud now

Order of importance, New Manager, Right-hand side, left back, center midfield, center forward if Dom and Beto go - otherwise what we have now I don't believe will be enough :(

The Championship as ever has the next batch of emerging young players that we could/should take advantage of

Hayden Hackney: Good forward thinking midfielder so will be completely out of place here. Got a bit of a hot head as got a silly sending off a few weeks ago, but a gem in the Carrick crown at the moment.

Ryan Andrews: Attacking full back, playing really well as wing back in Cleverley's system, the words attacking and full back dont fit our narrative though. And after the Patterson debacle, i very much doubt we have the balls to go after a young full back again.

Tyhrys Dolan: Massively underrated in my opinion, filled out a lot last 18 months, has the work rate for a Dyche set up, still drifts in and out of consistency though

Dennis Cirkin : Attacking left back with almost 100 games under his belt, was out pretty much all of last season with an injury too, solid in the tackle

Romaine Esse - Young winger who knows how to grab a goal, plenty of development to go, but looks a talent

All of these players wouldn't break the bank, but wouldn't completely change us in terms of output straight away. None of them fit the remit for Dyche/Thelwell unfortunately

Both of those Id take in a flash mate, Andrews can play at CB by all accounts also but he looks a talent for 20 years old, I like Watfords midfielder Chakvetadze who is 25 so not as emerging as some others but Id be surprised if Watford keep hold of him much longer, he is very good on the ball driving forward.

We've needed these since Digne left and it was apparent that Patterson was perma-crocked & Myko got a nosebleed past the halfway line TBH. We've needed the pacy RW, intellegent CM and decent CF for longer.

Me too, Hackney more than Andrews.
I like Andrews but its hard to tell with attacking full backs at that age if that would translate to the Premier League, i think of Jaden Bogle who looked unstoppable at Derby, same with Djed Spence & Max Aarons (ironically all three would be our best right back right now), but none of these really managedto fulfil that hype into the Premier League.

All a redundant point anyway as Thelwell wont have any of these on his radar and Dyche wouldn't play them.

I mean it's about price too. Hackney will be £25m+

Why do you put that particular price on him?

Ive only seen snippets since @Simon Buttle mentioned him a few timee last season so have no idea on any potential price tag.

I also remember Neil being mentioned.

Are either really 'that' good as no one has come in for them -- young and English usually has a market.
