Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Imagine being a player we're talking to about signing and watching this lol
I did think that was careless. “We aren’t in the market for any top players, so we’ve had to buy this bloke who ideally I wouldn’t want anywhere me or the club. He is worse than what he have, even the ones that can’t walk.”

Suspect offers have gone in, enquiries made, positive noises. Then clubs of mediocre standing have waltzed in, tripled our bid and offered to pay up front.

They all are Mike, they all are.

Newcastle have just had to sell Almiron to satisfy PSR. They've theoretically got an unlimited budget, but can't spend it.

It's ridiculous, but we're beholden to it at until it changes.

Leicester went in to court and laughed in their faces. Nobody is paying attention to the rules. Newcastle sold Almiron because he’s an absolute bum.

Reading the last few pages must admit I am a little confused, numerous complaints about lack of action, by Thelwell in particular and the club generally, but the same Profit and Sustainability Rules that resulted in points deduction still apply. The new owners have made available funds but this can only be used if the balance sheet allows it. We are assured that after the current accounting period ends in June less restrictions on spending will result, but until then Thelwell has to be creative in the deals he negotiates, whether it is a player he has identified, or Moyes. The hope is that whoever we get, to fill the holes in the squad, is/are effective from day one.
100% correct.

That doesn't stop the pitchfork waving lynch mob who don't care about this from wanting the club to jeopardise their Premier League position by falling foul of PSR again.

Simplistic way at looking at this we are the lowest net spenders in the Prem League over the last 5 years.

We have a revenue only beaten max by 10 clubs max.

We have shifted a lot of players on big contracts out of the club over the last 2/3 years such as Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes.

How is PSR so much of an issue for us compared to everyone else.....

Not very hopeful as news reports are very pessimistic now today - before that we were in for loads of options to sign - then again remember Fellanis signing ...... happened after the closing date time as we put the papers in at the last minute - one can hope we can get 1 0r 2 players in ?
