Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Most definitely.
It's on Moyes this , in his 1st presser when asked about the Nuamah transfer hie answered " I don't know if it's done yet ".

The whole thing has changed and very quickly imo Moyes looking for players the not obtainable and rubbishing all the months & months work on deals Thelwell had ready to go.

Something has changed dramatically since he came in.
Thing is if the list was the likes of Gnoto, Nuamsh, the lid from Rangers etc maybe Moyes is right to not regard them as any benefit for the money.

Maybe what Moyes suggests Thelwell similarly has thrown in the bin as not the correct signings.

Hadn’t seen this. Agree with the sentiment; managers almost never start a conversation about a player unless 99% done. The questions are a waste of time. The window breeds this desperation for info, then they make stuff up anyway.

But this sort of belligerence and very specific criticism of a particular reporter is REALLY embarrassing. Shocking conduct. What an unpleasant demeanor he has when miffed. Would last approximately 4 minutes at Finch Farm before hiding in the bogs.

been the gym hasn’t he thinks he a hard case now

If we lose tomorrow and don’t see any signings by the deadline the pitchforks will already be out for the new owners 😂
They should have sacked Thelwell the same day as they sacked Dyche. We had no football identity, no coaching philosophy other than having a manager who thought he was good enough to coach everything and had a main ambition of drawing every game and we were heading for a 3rd relegation battle on the trot. Someone fresh was needed regardless of any restraints he was under.

So yeah they have to take responsibility for letting him continue with his not directing our football whatsoever.

So it's OK Harrison etc see us out til the end of the season ?

I'm not saying Thelwell is right BTW, but he does know the parameters the club can work with and structured deals accordingly. Who says there wasn't another Ndiaye, O'brien or Tim lined up.
We all know reinforcements are badly needed.

To not bring any attacking players in is gross negligence

Perhaps the fact that Broja has gone from being 'ready for action' to 'out for 3 months', our "star striker" Billy SixGoals also now being out for weeks/months, and 50% of our really good 2-man midfield partnership being out for the rest of the season has changed the thinking from "a winger is not a priority with our limited resources".

No one knows for sure how 'close' we were to Nuamah, his club might have pulled the plug on a transfer for whatever reason, Moyes may not simply want him or think he is a necessity signing when he clearly has more issues than address than when he first arrived.

Haven’t watched presser but sounds like maybe Moyes was sold a lie on what we could do in January. Dyche said similar when he joined. Think Carlo left because of that as well.

Do we blame a badly run club or our managers being too trusting?
Obviously they looked no further than the £5 mil pa salary.
I mean who would turn that down.
