Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Afternoon lads. With only a few days to go I thought I’d put a wee overview together to try and cover off the rumours flying around. Definitely some beauts in there today.

Although not a specialised left-back, Tariq Lamptey is a player of interest to Everton with the Toffees monitoring his availability for months.

According to the Daily Mail, Lamptey has now been made available for a fee of just £1.5m before Monday’s deadline.

According to ESPN, Everton are also considering a potential move for the Lille and England international Angel Gomes.

The 24-year-old is free to speak to foreign clubs over a pre-contract agreement as he nears the end of his deal in France. It is expected any deal for the midfielder would be over a summer move.

Carlos Alcaraz was left with no choice but to leave Flamengo and sign for Everton, according to O Globo.

The Argentinian news outlet reported (1 February) that the midfielder was informed that he did not fit the system under Filipe Luis. Therefore, after finding out that he would not be playing for Flamengo again, even if he was to stay put, the 22-year-old has agreed to join Everton on loan, with an option to buy.

Manchester United could sell Victor Lindelof before the transfer deadline with Everton interested, according to Alex Crook. Speaking on the talkSPORT Transfer Notebook Podcast (31 January), Crook states the Toffees have looked at Lindelof during the winter transfer window as David Moyes seeks to strengthen his side.

Everton have been in negotiations ‘for months’ over Eintracht Frankfurt’s Junior Dina Ebimbe, although a move this month is unlikely. That’s according to BILD, who report on the player as he heads back to the German club after failing a medical at Monaco.

The newspaper explains that Ebimbe had been set to join the Ligue 1 side, even going as far as to delete all of the Eintracht related photos on his Instagram. However, that was premature as the move to Monaco failed as they found damage on his calf and didn’t want to take the risk.

Everton are joined by West Ham in the race for Evan Ferguson with Graham Potter keen to reunite with his former Brighton striker. However, it seems as if the 20-year-old may have other ideas as he is eyeing up a move abroad. According to ESPN, sources are suggesting a potential move to the Bundesliga is appealing to the Ireland international.

Everton have been offered the chance to sign AC Milan forward Samuel Chukwueze, according to Calciomercato. The Italian news outlet reported via its website (30 January) that the Serie A outfit has touted the forward’s services to sides across Europe as the transfer deadline approaches.

Three more clubs are reportedly showing interest in highly-rated Sunderland winger Tommy Watson during the transfer window.

“Brighton saw an offer of around £2million rebuffed earlier this week – but they are ready to go back. TBR Football can also confirm that Tottenham, Crystal Palaceand Everton have also shown an interest in the 18-year-old.”

Everton hold an interest in Ernest Nuamah of Lyon ahead of Monday’s deadline to bolster their attacking options. However, a change of manager at the Ligue 1 side could now put a real spanner in the works. Speaking in his unveiling press conference on Friday, Fonseca admitted he is really pleased with the group of players he has inherited.
