Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Just looking at Moyes first batch of transfers at the beginning of his first stint. A mixed bag...

It was Ginola, Richard Wright, Rodrigo, Yobo, Li Tie and Li Wefing in his first window - followed by Carsley, Baardsen, McBride and Ibrahim Said in the following January.

In his second summer it was, Killer Kilbane, Iain Turner, Jeffers (back on loan), McFadden, and Martyn.

He liked a GK back then - four of them in a year!

Targetted more expansive players more latterly e.g. Kudus, Paqueta, Ward-Prowse, Bowen etc...

No idea of what profile he will be looking for in this window TBH.
Carsley was a Walter smith signing wasn't he?

Sadly that's our best chance of signing him if he's injured, it's what we do. Good player but I don't think Brighton would sell unless it's for ridiculous money and from what I've saw of him he doesn't look like a natural goalscorer, we need goals and pace in our team.
How exactly would you define "natural goalscorer", mate?

Seems to have the knack to me...

This is the transfer thread.

All but Dibling have been linked.

What seems to be your issue?

You seem to be the delusional one as you dont know where you are.

"Try and stay up"

:)
If you can give me one example of a relegation threatened club buying teenagers to stay up I’ll bow to your ‘wisdom’. You’re acting like we’re comfortably mid table and trying to build.

We need 21-25/26 year olds, still to hit their prime but perfectly capable now.

Broja will almost certainly return to Chelsea for treatment, yeah we may have to cover his wages (unsure on that) but also it will free up a loan spot for a domestic loan to come in...

Richarlison returning maybe.... Due back next week from his hammy injury.

If your gonna bring Moyes back because of knowing the club and being up for the fight, then Richy if he stays fit is one player you can 💯 guarantee would be up for it and contribute some goals too.

Assuming it is gonna be Moyes which looks likely, almost certain to see at least one fullback come in as he's always liked attacking ones and we have zero of them.

Also prepare to see a big grock centre mid in as Moyes always liked one of those too.

Players who'll be edit from Moyes btw.
O'Brien - loves a big physical CB.
Lindstrom - he'll get used more like Osman was under Moyes. Ndiaye, he'll have an overlapping fullback if he stays out left.
Players who'll lose out, Mykolenko - crap going forwards, Doucoure - can't control a ball, all right backs - none can do what Moyes will want from them.

Relegation threatened club?

Lets do some analysis on when Everton were last relegated and see what the pattern is shall we?

Were halfway through a season. Relegation threatened is Southampton.

Bringing in quality young players is exactly the approach the club should take.

Dibling and Armstrong look like Yamal and Messi compared to Harrison.

Rigg vs Doucoure and Mangala?

Theyre upgrades...as is Diarra and seemingly this Wesley Franca character.

Someone and I know I'm going back the Yak, Lukaku there are probably better examples, just someone who scores regularly a poacher. As good as this lad looks he doesn't strike me as a poacher. Maybe I've missed it mate, what is his scoring rate, if it's a 1 in 3 fair enough.
