Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Not happening, been on about him for 18 months, think we missed the boat either when he went to Sheff Utd on loan or even a small chance this summer.

Cole Palmer will have upped his importance of , look at the lads City are giving away
Means nothing that.

If the player wants to move , he will move.
See Delap & Palmer , Mctee won't be any different.

City are going to rebuild with big signings so there will always be surplus players.
My guess is Mcatee , Oscar Bob & Rico Lewis will soon be looking for clubs.

Pep loves him - has given him far more minutes than any young payer he has had

Yeah McAtee would have me doing windmills if we got him, only chance would be a deal happening before anyone got wind of it though as if City made it known he's available you'd have a host of clubs after him both here and abroad.

Just don't see any chance but then again still shocked Delap ended up at Ipswich and going back a few years still shocked we got Lukaku after his two loan seasons proving how good he was
People often cite clubs having to sell homegrown products as a negative aspect of PSR, but it looks like that could be a positive with clubs less likely to hoard young players. Prior to that you'd have the bigger clubs sitting on young talent, not playing them, but also tying them down to long contracts so they can't play anywhere else. That seems to be happening less now

He loved Cole Palmer mate.

Mcatee ( & the others ).are at an age they want regular 1st footie. He has proven quality players in front of him at City ( like Salah , Debruyne & Lukaku at Chelsea ) , plus any new signings they make.

So we'll see soon enough.

Now release the funds Friedkins, ffs. We are desperate, probably more than any other side in the division. 3 players please - ASAP. No excuses.
I wonder if today will make a difference- yeah it doesn't actually change our PSR position (other than it gives us certainty about the numbers we're working to) but what it does do is show that all the clubs including ourselves who had PSR problems to sort in June successfully did so, so even though leaving it to some late wheeling and dealing isn't ideal, it works. That might embolden them to spend a bit more now knowing they can sort it in June.

Did Moyes have a DOF in his time in charge of us? He seemed to like being in control of whatever players came in and he might prefer to look after that side himself.

No, but football has changed a lot in the time since he was last here, West Ham had a DOF, so the last club he managed had one. Every club in the premier league has a DOF or "Sporting Director" that does a similar job.

I still think the manager and DOF should agree on a player, there is no point the club signing a player if the manager wont play them.

I still think Moyes would make a boss DoF.

Take all three of them for £20m a piece and 25% sell-on for any value above that. Obviously they'd go for more like, but you'd think maybe two of the three might fancy staying put in the north west.
