Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Didn’t similar happen with Stones. We were dithering & he was driving to Wigan at which point we matched their bid.
That was Andy Johnson and he wasn't dithering it was Kenwright who had failed to offer Palace what Wigan and Bolton had offered . As for Cahill from what I can remember Palace had agreed a fee with Millwall before we had but pulled out of the deal because his agent wanted 125,000

Wouldn't be surprised if Moyes goes for someone like Dessers. Hopefully he can be paid for by cash and sending Patterson back. That'd leave us with cash for a another, possibly one loan.

PSR is only but an excuse for not having to spend more than you need to. TFG has plenty of ways they can help our psr situation freeing up some spending capability if they really want to. Now I am starting to wonder if we have thelwell still going to clubs putting down a fiver as initial payment with payment terms over many years which could explain why we are not making any signings. There was an article the other day where supposedly we had American investors over at Brighton. This is not an ownership similar to chelsea or city...they are business people first and foremost, and they will be spending little if any at all of their own money.
PSR is a ready made excuse for these Forrest were in the exact same position as us last season and it doesn’t seem to effect them in buying players , im just suspicious about these because of the 30 odd years of crap owners we’ve had to though

Correct... Kenwright tried to low ball Jordan and Jordan came out on the press and said "Everton wouldn't get Andy's left boot for what Bill has offered.

The Dithering Davettes are struggling to put up case here.

Curious to see if we bring in a forward and who it might be under Moyes. We had a right random collection of strikers under him last time, especially those brought in cheap:

Cheapies
Bent
Straq
Beckford
Jo
Naismith

Some expense spared
Johnson
Beattie
Yakubu
Jelavic

Might have forgotten a few. Expecting a cheapie and it could be weird and wonderful. Or not.

In one sense I am glad there aren't loads of links as this is how Moyes used to operate most of the time you wouldn't know much a few rumblings, then a signing will all but be done. That being said we need players this week so you would hope some firmer links come out soon...

We had a great team back then and moyes was terrified of the so called big-4. His record against the so called big teams was criminal and, relative, to our own league position, proved categorically that he bottled it time and time again.

Then of course when he moved to Utd he proved his contempt for us as a little club.

The Baines bid was a joke Tbh and we greatest as one, Baines stayed. The Fellaini bid, in the end £27m was excellent as it allowed us to buy Lukaku, so I have no grudges at all towards Moyes, did you blame Moyes for moving to the then biggest club in the Country ?
