Everton January transfer window 2021

Yeah. We need a ball-winner as it stands because Gbamin and Allan are injured. But that's temporary and can be fixed in different ways (don't play 4-3-3 etc if they're not all fit - as we've seen in the last few games and it worked).

We need a ball carrier. The lad who has just gone to Leipzig whose name I do not care to try and spell on Christmas Eve is the perfect type of player we should be after for that role.

But that's gonna have to wait. We have urgent need in the forward areas to take strain off Richarlison and Dom - and James, when he's fit. That need was urgent and should have been addressed in October. Our recruitment team/management chose not to and that was a dismal decision. Needs to be fixed next month - no excuse.
Agree it's our biggest need preferably a forward with pace who can play accross the front three. Followed by right back then central midfield depending what happens with Gbamin.

Jeff Reine-Adelaide looks more like the powerful player we need.

Nice have a €25mil option to buy from Lyon...so we'd have to part with more than that.

Aouar ive posted about 2 years ago...hes a very good playmaker.

Do we want a more lightweight player or do we need to ensure that our midfield isnt weak...

Id personally go for a nasty DM...

Its clearly the lack of goals that is the problem. Defense looks fine, midfield is ok but
upfront we have no pace or skill to help Dom. Iwobi is no winger, Bernard is a failure,
and we do not sufficient quality at no 10 or on the right hand side.

James is the one player who can provide quality and who would get into say the United team
but the rest of forwards would be rejected by Burnley

Not that i think we will or should sign anyone significant in the Jan window, bar a Branthwaite style youth signing.

But the positions id target are both full back positions and either flank.

Id be more then happy to sell Bernard, Iwobi, Bolaise. Delph can go to.

Absolutely correct. Dele Alli is NOT the answer to our needs in midfield.

If he were to join us in January, I would expect to either see him splitting time with DCL as the CF in our 4-3-3 or see Ancelotti start using a 4-4-2 with Alli, DCL and Richarlison sharing the load in manning the front pair. I don't see the player being happy in the first scenario, and I don't think we have the wide players for the second scenario.
It's clear what we need. We need players with legs and strength who can run beyond our forward players at pace to join attacks and get back into position when required. Alli doesn't have that but people think he does. It's an illusion. There are players out there we should be looking at.

Auaor would be good - he's strong, skillful and can put a challenge in. He has a good all round balance. Odds on to go Arsenal though
