Everton January transfer window 2021

We need another striker and a central midfielder.

Not to bring a striker in would be negligent. Granted the market will be slow/difficult and money is tight, but we also have the option of using loans.

I accept its harder to do business but I don't accept its impossible. We have a whole operation geared to scouting and transfers and thats what Brands and his team are there for. I don't believe Ancelotti will want to pass up any opportunities to strengthen the squad by whatever means, whatever his public comments might suggest.

There is a great amount of flux this season and possibly an opportunity existing for us to get a top six place. We have suffered greatly due to injuries as it is and it would be hugely disappointing if we were to miss out primarily due to to that reason.

We simply cannot go through the 2nd half of the season bringing Tosun on. Expecting nothing and getting nothing.

That would be my view as well. A forward who can cover anywhere along the front three and a pacer midfielder. I would have said right back but I think we need a long term first choice right back and it will be difficult to pick that up in January so Holgate and Coleman can continue this season.

I don’t think this Jan window can be classed like the others. Clubs are really up against it... thankfully the PL seems to be the one exempt league probably because of global outreach.
There is great value this window... sad as it may be if we target the clubs who are really up against it I believe there are bargains like no other Jan window this time

It’s a massive opportunity because if we somehow managed to unearth a Suarez/Fernandes type they can propel your team’s form for the second half of the season. We could legitimately challenge for the title. That’s highly highly unlikely, but there’s no reason we can’t do an Arteta/Jelavic type deal of a player who comes in for not much money but he a huge impact.

Surely we’d be no chance of signing him permanently but even a loan for the rest of the season would be outstanding business by us.
Foden is a great talent but who would he replace in our first eleven? I would imagine he’d want to be starting most games. Little point in him swapping city’s bench for ours.

Believe it or not , and yes I have to rub my eyes when I look at the league table , we are rivals to City for a top 4 spot.

So do you really think that City are going to loan us one of their best prospects ?

Foden will be central to their team selection for the remainder of the season and beyond.

More chance of them coming in for Digne or DCL.

He'll be smarting that Grealish has overtaken him in the England pecking order, you'd imagine, and it's hard to see him getting past de Bruyne at City.

Eh? Grealish and Foden play completely different roles especially for England. Anyway nice idea. Would love it to come off, however its very unlikely.

I'm as excited at the prospect of ditching a few of the players who bloat the squad and the payroll & aren't near the current team as it stands. (ie. it half the first team missing)

I know it's unlikely... the hope will destroy me.
