Everton January transfer window 2021

I mean he’s fine, but this is concerning as it means we aren’t planning on actually replacing Pickford.
I'm not so sure about that. I think Ancelotti would replace Pickford at the drop of a hat if we had the chance for a new keeper.

I think a keeper is best bought early in the summer transfer window so he can get to know his defence before actually playing.

What makes you think he’d do that?

What’s your view of Khedira mate?
Sami was a brilliant, intelligent player, underrated to some extent in a world where Bastian Schweinsteiger was the people's champion and Toni Kroos the afficionado's choice. But Khedira was the glue the linked it all up.

He's 33 now and coming to the end. So the question is, what are we signing him for (if indeed we are)? My answer would be for leadership, unparalleled experience, in-game intelligence, and to increase standards. Nobody will be signing a first-choice player who will play 38 games. They'll be signing somebody who can quietly lead, will play maybe 15 times a season, and generally improve the squad. If your option is to start Tom Davies or Sami Khedira, well, at least you have that option. Right now, we don't have much choice when the likes of Allan is out. Davies might actually have his uses if Carlo has options to choose from.

I have a degree in economics, but there's nothing more depressing about modern football than fans analysing club finances. My take is that we are owned by billionaires who seem to be making us more competitive and are serious about building a new stadium. I don't worry unduly about how we pay for all this - because it's pointless. I don't own the club. I do like the ambition and the way they have attracted Ancelotti and Rodriguez. That's serious. So, if Carlo thinks Khedira is worth a punt for the reasons I've stated above, I won't be complaining. Lord knows we need quality players to bulk up the squad and provide the manager with options.

But he's not a player that will help us challenge for the title. He's clearly a signing - if it happens - that gives us options as we seek to bridge the gap to the top six and become an established force. Think of the players Manchester City signed before they went fully nuclear. That's where we are right now.

Excellent post this mate, why is this new generation so pampered by the way?

Could be wrong but don't recall man City signing any injury prone 34 year olds new to the league?

Lol.... he's the back up left back.

Update from The Old firm derby....Both Édouard and Morelos are crap, stop thinking they could lead our line.
Slightly harsh on the Frenchman....could be ok with decent players around.
However the standard is absolutely terrible...if these are the 2 best teams in the league etc . It really is almost unwatchable.
However seeing Shane Duffy try to play football is very funny.
