Why do people mention Grealish as though it's a possibility? He's just signed a new 5 year contract at his boyhood club who are building a team around him - they wouldn't sell to a direct competitor and he wouldn't come to us as it's not as if were excelling right now. Sorry just find it curiousGrealish and Zaha would transform us.
More money and the chance to play for Ancelotti? Why do people mention Grealish as though it's a possibility? Nope that won't do it.More money and the chance to play for Ancelotti?
Oh well just Zaha then.Nope that won't do it.
I’m not sure we will spend big on an out and out right sided player while we have James. Maybe James will play behind a front 3 in certain home games, but I couldn’t see it in the majority of games. And because of his lack of work rate, it will just put more pressure on Richarlison and he will end up spending a lot of the game in his own half.Sarr from Watford please
I absolutely despise 4-2-3-1 but it really does suit us at the moment. James playing on the right and not offering anything in defence is causing the midfielder to be pulled over to that side leaving a hole in the middle. Moving him more central means we can have someone on the right who will be able to give a lot more support.Just thinking there.. could the answer be a top class, pacey RW? basically a profile like Richarlison for the right hand side exclusively. Move James into the no. 10 where we can utilise his quality on the ball more and simply drop that 'no. 8' role in the midfield.
Other than that, the only other thing I can think of is simply replacing Gomes, Sigurdsson et al with a better player for that deeper-lying playmaker role.
Inclined to agree really. I do think having the option between 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 would help out a lot and, for me, that's dependent on getting a quality RW and a playmaking CM to be able to make both systems work. It's not as if playing the 3 in midfield is stopping us from conceding for fun anyway so may as well subsidise with more attacking/forwarding-thinking quality in the side. We have enough defensive-minded players at the club now in my opinion so we simply need to make the current crop work.I absolutely despise 4-2-3-1 but it really does suit us at the moment. Well, in theory, yeah. But that would probably mean Richarlison moving right side and then that takes away from him bursting into the area from the left.
Again, caused by not getting anyone else in in the last window.
Yeah, why would Richarlison need to move right? Leave him alone and get someone else on the right.Well, in theory, yeah. But that would probably mean Richarlison moving right side and then that takes away from him bursting into the area from the left.
