Everton January transfer window 2021

I hate to sound like one of those whiney posters, but going into the season with Tosun as our backup CF was a bad idea that we mostly got away with and should have lined something up for the first week of this window to correct that. We haven't and now we face going into Wolves without DCL and maybe Richy. Just seems plain stupid from the club.

I think more worryingly, we went into the season with our backup CF Tosun being injured having not played a game since Feb 2020 when he done his ACL. It's a big head scratcher, only Brand and Ancelotti know why we never replaced Kean or even Walcott to an extent.

Strangely doesn't look like they're going to rectify it this window either.

DCL taking a knock after Tosun plays 120 minutes is typical.

We need to be strengthening up top. Tosun's display on the weekend should attract some clubs like West Brom, he played pretty well overall and showed he can find the net.

Selling him for £10m and replacing him with Milik for the same fee would make a lot of sense.

Doucoure and Allan are brilliant but would benefit from a player to sit deep behind them and let them roam. Khedira in his prime would've been perfect for this but who knows if he can still do it.

Assuming we aren't going to spend big until we know whether Gbamin can make a comeback, Khedira is the likely low risk move in the short term.

Milik + Khedira in, Tosun out and both Gordon and Davies out on loan would be good moves all round.

I mean we need another forward regardless of Dom getting injured.

We needed one before we let Kean and Walcott leave.

It's not panic buying. Another quality forward option could be the difference between us getting Europe or not.

Understandable but Jan isn't the time to sign one of them IMO. Especially someone who is at a level we need and not just a bench warmer.

Unless there's something up Brand's sleeve and Diego Costa is rocking up...it's gonna be too expensive in Jan.

What about crazy Dave, released from Atleti. Would love him at Everton

I don't think Anderson is a bad player from West Ham actually. Gone off the boil but started really well there and might respond well to Carlo

I mean this is why we shouldn't have left it in the summer (well, October).

But, also, the deals can be done if you're smart about these things. We aren't. And it's frustrating.

Costa is way past his best, can't keep fit, scored about 6 goals in the last two years and would want massive wages. Like Khedira, exactly the type of signing we shouldn't make.

I highly doubt we're in for Anderson.

Our accounts show we have made a loss of 280m in the last 2 years.

You think its dead easy to just buy a Striker for 40m to stick on the bench? We tried that with Kean, it didn't work.

Not at all and I don't want a £40m striker to sit on the bench.

We need an all-round forward, and they'd probably play as many games as all of our other forwards, because we have a dreadful record with injuries and there's also just generally being able to rotate your team and system when needed.

Only way to progress is by getting better players to be able to mix things. Unfortunately, you need to be able to play more games and progress deep in competitions to justify it fully, but then to be able to progress deep in competitions, you need a better squad, so it's a double-edged sword.

Well the 2 people that matter deemed a Striker non-esstential.

Sadly now, that decision might bite them, but thankfully it happens at a time when we can add somebody if they deem it now essential.

I doubt they will.
