Well the 2 people that matter deemed a Striker non-esstential.

Sadly now, that decision might bite them, but thankfully it happens at a time when we can add somebody if they deem it now essential.

I doubt they will.

It was a decision which bit them straight away when Richarlison got suspended, mate, and we lost three games on the spin.

At minimum, we should be identifying and signing a loan striker, as a matter of urgency.

The bar doesn't need to be particularly high, 5 goals would be a great return from a loan striker between now and May.

Someone with pace would be an added bonus.

As it is, we'll sign nobody of that ilk or be left hanging on deadline day.

If we need to wait till then so be it, but not acting at all cannot be countenanced.

I don't know if it was an intentional gamble or just plain stupidity. Since we might be going into Wolves without Richy or DCL and they've still not fixed it after that bad run I'm leaning toward the latter.

Well we were never fixing the whole squad in the summer sadly.

Yeah, your saying we only needed an attacker, but we didn't only need an attacker, we needed a new GK, a new RB, an option in midfield, a back up LB.

100% agree, it's a process.

But there are priorities.

We don't really need a back-up LB, we just need Carlo to trust a young lad. He should do it. Because we need to spend money elsewhere.

GK, RB, midfielder - we can hold them off until the summer.

But we can't - and we couldn't in October - rely so heavily on two lads for our forward line. It was a daft decision and, while I understand the factors in play, I don't buy that we could not have mitigated the risk in someway heading into a season full of opportunity but full of more danger of injury, covid (long covid like Lascelles and ASM at Newcastle, even) and then the added fixture pile ups.

It's already cost us being able to at least give the League Cup more of a go - and we knew in September that we'd got to the quarters.

Going off what reliable people said, it was an intentional gamble.

Either way it's just absolutely nuts.

Equally nuts is seeing how bad we were without one of them, not lining anything up, and could go into Wolves without either of them.
on one hand Ancelotti and the club are trotting out champions league and European qualification, on the other they are happy to go into a season with one decent striker with Sunday league Cenk as back up, as usual EFC talking like Real Madrid acting like Coventry City
