I think it’s a number of factors. Godfrey and Holgate are very good defensively first and foremost, but limited on the ball. The improved fitness of Mina has allowed him to play a number of games with Keane and gain a good understanding together. The pair of them at corners must make them a nightmare to mark. Finally stating the obvious, the work of Ancelloti on the training ground is really paying dividends. As a unit those 4 are difficult to break down and get round the back of, due to the pace of Holgate and Godfrey. By next year, we will have 5 centre backs (Braithwaite being the other) vying for 2 regular starting positions. As I’m convinced a new right back will be bought and Digne will be reinstated back to his natural full back position. Hopefully we’ll have European football to offer, to give them all enough game time to keep them happy and match fit.

Ive said we need a forward for a while, should have got one during summer, even more so when kean left for if Lewin got injured - we somehow got till now before Lewin got Injured and now its happened, the Jan window is the right time, not sure about getting one to win the league -I dont expect the league at all though

If Carlo wants it, he'll get it.

I just feel him and Brands are being rather passive. I trust Carlo, but I'm not sure he still fully gets how Everton things can get for Everton.

It absolutely would be, and was the case in the summer. We need that over a 'back up' striker.

Should have been a target in the summer and should be a target now.

that being said, we'll be lucky if we don't have to play Sigurdsson and Davies as a two in midfield in our next league game, so there's issues there.

I honestly would rather we signed that RB from Lille. We aren't getting a striker anywhere near the quality of DCL so if he's hurt for a stretch we're screwed new striker coming in or not. But a RB could make the first team better right away and that might be a bigger boost to push us toward the top.

Not expecting it at all...but it’s as wide open as I have known it. Consider the fact we’ve never been in the mix before and I think it’s worth a punt!
