Holgate was our number 1 CB last season before being injured. Keane has stepped up this season and is brilliant but nothing says to me Holgate isn't in the mix for the 2nd starting spot... as easily we could see the back of Mina with Holgate and Godfrey fighting it out for Keane's partner. Both have the benefit of being versatile across the back 4. Both though want that starting CB spot.

RB is number 1 priority. Excited to see who eventually comes in.

I don't believe we need to start thinking about selling a CB for some time, or replacing any that we have.. Deffo sell before buy in this department now.
Mina 's going nowhere mate.
He's not losing his place anytime soon.
Unless someone comes in with silly money.

How do you know ?

I think we are , the club wont be throwing it around the internet til theyve done their business.

Why do you think we are? Absolutely nothing coming out plus we cant buy till we sell and who in their right mind wants any of our deadwood, rubbish on massive wages who are happy to stay put and coin it in....

Cant believe posters want to sell Godfrey and Holgate, they both make Keane and Mina look better, because they possess one thing Keane and Mina severely lack...pace. As a unit defensively the last 7 or 8 games we have definitely looked a lot more solid at the back.
I think it’s a number of factors. Godfrey and Holgate are very good defensively first and foremost, but limited on the ball. The improved fitness of Mina has allowed him to play a number of games with Keane and gain a good understanding together. The pair of them at corners must make them a nightmare to mark. Finally stating the obvious, the work of Ancelloti on the training ground is really paying dividends. As a unit those 4 are difficult to break down and get round the back of, due to the pace of Holgate and Godfrey. By next year, we will have 5 centre backs (Braithwaite being the other) vying for 2 regular starting positions. As I’m convinced a new right back will be bought and Digne will be reinstated back to his natural full back position. Hopefully we’ll have European football to offer, to give them all enough game time to keep them happy and match fit.
