I was never one of Keane's biggest fans mate but it's been more than a few better performances, he's been consistently good for a while now (I know the Man U game was bad but Holgate was as much to blame as Keane) and he's our best centre - half at this moment in time and it looks like Carlo sees it that way as well.
It depends how Keane is going to be now. He's a confidence player. If I had it my way I'd start again and sell both Keane and Mina and go for top 6 targets such as Upamencano etc - CBs that are strong and aggressive but also technical. I just imagine having Sourmare sat on front next to Allan. That would be one of the strongest spines in the league. We always have a soft core element and comes back to bite us.

Keane for me in the the Johnny Evans mould - he's ok when in form but so dodgy and weak when out of form. I could see Leicester being interested in Keane actually - that's just a hunch btw

Brands won't work in January, stop doing it to yourselves. This squad is the one we've got for the season.
With respect, based on what evidence? There's every chance (in my opinion that is) as with these majority of these players, we're looking down rather than up. Carlo wants to crack on so Brands may have to break routine.

I get the Zaha shouts but after a summer of spending money with very little long term vision it would be really nice if we could take a step back and sign someone with a long term future (ie worth giving a second 5 year contract to if they play well) and also the possibility of some return on investment if necessary. Zaha isn't that good where we can't find similar or better production with way smarter use of funds.
Leon Bailey would seem a sensible alternative. He’s hitting some form again this season and does have the attributes we need - can play anywhere across the line pretty well, skillful, quick and has that low centre of gravity which can make players so tough to knock off the ball.

Whether Leverkusen would be willing to sell in the middle of the season is a different matter, mind.

There was every major chance of Europe if we got a decent midfielder in last January. We didn't.

Controversial but the last time our defence looked half solid at times was with a Mr Zouma in the back line.

Not his biggest fan but think he's better than both Holgate & Mina.
