We do we also need that forward you mention. But Doucoure could play that role if he wasn't doing two other jobs in midfield too.

Yeah, but if you had Eriksen in there I'm not sure he'd do much more defensive work than Gomes currently would.
We desperately need energy in the middle.
Allan and Doucoure have brought that but we've seen when Gomes has been off the boil and Gylfi has then come in, they've had to carry too much.

I feel as though this should be Doucoure's role, as he's hardly a great passer of the ball.
I'd definitely like to see someone in the middle who has the ability to switch play / turn defence into attack with one pass, but you're right that a forward has to be be the top priority.
Depends who's going to be available on loan, I suppose.
Yeah, maybe 'ball-carrier' isn't the best term.
I mean a player who can do as you say - switch the play, get us up the pitch.
I think Doucoure can do that to an extent, but as you say his passing isn't the best. He's a good runner and energetic, we want him bursting forward to get on the end of things.
Then the third midfielder really needs to be a creator, but one who can still travel with the ball.
I highly doubt we'll get another midfielder in this January unless a really good offer presents itself.
In that sense it'll be to get Gomes to come good (he played well in the first few games), and hopefully Gbamin coming back will give us another option to be more solid.
Gomes is never going to offer a goal threat, though, and that's a big issue.
We obviously have the option of playing James there, but that requires us to have another option for the right.
Bernard - seems too lightweight to play there in Prem games. Not sure Gordon would be trusted. Iwobi could be the option in certain matches - it certainly suits him better than playing wide - but we'd obviously lose any defensive solidity with him in there.

I actually thought he that was what we bought doucoure to do,he has played a number of auxiliary roles across the midfield that I don't think we have seen the best of him.
I’d like to see a left footed attacker who plays on the right, to give us that balance in the front 3 and allow James to move inside. Based on what little I have seen, I like the look of Orsolini.
Maybe not quite as urgent would be a long term replacement for Coleman, of the same quality as Digne. Get the right side of the team up to the same quality as the left.
Add those 2 players to what we have already, I think we have team to challenge the top 6. (Outfield at least)

Not sure on the eriksen should me, was boss a few years ago but been a been crap for a few years now. Deffo not a cm either
