Again, what difference does it make what language or which medium he does an interview if you’re still getting said interview?

You don’t get interviews with any other PL DoF.

I've added to my initial response. The language isn't the issue.

https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co...ed-director-football-victor-orta-full-3007083 - Here's a very recent example

Oh, here's another one - https://theathletic.co.uk/2203450/2...-director-of-football-matt-crocker-interview/

While we can all bemoan the Echo, it would be nice to hear more directly from Brands. And so what if other clubs don't do it? Why don't we try and take the first steps with something? It seems that unless it's ETIC, we're so reactive and passive.

A monthly/bi-monthly, 5-minute clip on the club's site would be all it would take. I've said this before. It's about content but controlling that content too.

Brands has restructured the entire scouting department - well let him tell us about it, rather than having to read about it from Paddy Boyland (nothing against Paddy).

Brands has restructured the academy - let him explain why in a quick clip, or co-interview with Unsworth etc.

Maybe because no other DoF in this country does either it he’s realised he doesn’t have to and it’s not really worth having an entire fan base/media scrutinising every word that comes out of his mouth.

Plus every time he speaks Dave goes on a killing spree.

Just feel the club could organise this better.

Every month or so, have a club interview with Brands, detailing certain aspects of the work being done. Kind of like a review. Where we're at with the academy, are we on target with what our aims are for the season, etc.

Doesn't have to go into detail on specific targets, of course. But we never hear from him directly apart from at the AGM.
Think he likes to keep a low profile, Moshiri was quite vocal in the press and he got nothing but grief and the piss taken out of him.

I prefer the low key aspect of our club, the club is very active on social media and tells us the important things, that's all I expect really, I don't think a multi-billion pound business should advertise its day to day business.

I used to think he was decent but watch him a little closer him and you'll find Anguissa is very very bad. At best, he flatters to deceive.

I've literally just sent two examples from within the last three months. Leeds' DOF answers fans on Twitter at times I believe.

I'm not asking for that. I'm asking for the club to be proactive and take a different approach to other clubs. I don't see why that's a problem.

I feel a lot more fans would be able to get on board with Brands if there was a platform for him to explain some decisions, or not even the decisions, more what the focus is etc.

His remit is a lot more than just transfers but on the face of it that's what really ends up counting in the eyes of the fans, so it'd be nice for him to be able to explain some of the other stuff which has gone on, rather than, as I said, one presentation at the AGM every year.

Not about day to day basis, Goat. Not entirely, anyway.

Not asking for nuts and bolts, or gory details, but overhauling the recruitment department (believe up to 70% of the staff were cut) is a big decision. IMO it was the right one, but would be nice to have heard directly how for example that works (again, don't need the finer details, but a general overview etc).

On Gravenbach himself, who Brands mentions, he's a player, from the little I've seen of him.

Just wait till Zat sees the link.

God help us all.

You sent me two interviews with two DoF’s in a discussion about an interview our DoF did. He’s doing what you want, what the two people you linked do, just not in the Echo which is all I can see is the difference there to the Leeds one.

Our club is low-key, our transfer business is low-key, I’m very happy with that then what it was like before Brands.

What do you think his changes to the academy consist of? I'm intrigued at this? Looks like streamlining.

Sorry for asking a similar question again mate, but what do you understand the changes to recruitment consisted of?

I want the Brands ones to primarily be done through the club. A second-best to that would ideally be with someone like the Athletic correspondents - journalists who are extremely knowledgable in regards to Everton, and will ask the questions they know will strike a chord with the fans. Again, the club can control this. The Athletic lads know what to ask and how to ask it because they want to keep their links with the club. Same goes for the Echo, as useless as they can be.

In an ideal world though, through the club. I don't care if other clubs in the Prem don't do it, there's no reason that we shouldn't try.

I dunno considering the questions the Echo and Athletic ask the club are normally the same dross everyone else does. Also I’d much rather Google translate an interview with Brands than hide it behind a paywall.

You want him to do interviews, he does them.
