Everton January transfer window 2021

Our squad will be totally revamped come end of summer next season.

All of the following are likely to be gone:

OOC this summer
Bolasie
Besic
Pennington
Walcott

OOC next summer
Coleman
Tosun
Sigurdsson
Delph
Baningame
Lössl

+ Kean and Bernard almost certain to be sold.

I can potentially (although I'd disagree with it) see one-year extensions for Coleman/Sigurdsson, but I hope not.

We should be 10-12 players down from what we have contacted at the moment.

And the best thing is, we can lose all of the above and replace them with about 5 players and still end up with a squad of about 23-25 players, and much improved.

Superb.

Over the next few years it seems like Small, Nkounkou, Branthwaite, Onyango and Gordon could be part of the first team setup.

Thats 5 players costing circa £1mil in transfer fees.

Effectively it means all those incredibly expensive squad players on high wages would be replaced for pennies.

Im hoping Brands stays on and we can bring in or develop 5 more u21s. Then we could use our funds on starting players for the first 11 whilst having a second 11 full of highly promising youngsters.

The amount of money we would save could be huge and some used for incoming top class star players.

Honestly, I'd rather keep Bolasie than loan him to anyone in Turkey. They'd probably ask for us to pay a fee along with all this wages.
surely they will pay something (loan fee / part of wages), And i assume any money is better than him doing nothing for his salary for the next 5 months. Doubt he is arsed going there to be honest

This is what a director of football does.

We give Brands loads but Walsh needed to turf out some of the Moyes/Martinez deadwood but instead added to the wage junkpile with over priced and over paid players.

Brands' biggest compliment is that he is reversed most of this expensive damage but you can't do that in one transfer window.

Brands had done an outstanding job in addressing our squad issue and he will admit could've done more like getting defensive cover and more attacking elements but if you have financial blockages like Bolasie, Besic etc who want to "fight for the shirt" aka sit on their arse, we can't financially add because of previous F Ups.

What frustrates most fans is we have a great opportunity just like Moyes' 04/05 team who gambled (Arteta loan and Beattie £8m) but they forget we sold Gravesen and spent only £2m in the Summer while we lost the biggest homegrown talent for a relatively small amount but they limped over the line and had only a top 4 to compete with whereas this season it's a Top 8 fighting for 4 spots.

Hopefully come February we have shifted some more and trimmed back the bloat while attracting the best players for Everton plus Carlo will be focusing on winning and getting back to where we belong.

They will probably only pay about 20% of his wages, but at least he's not hanging round the place. I know he's on loads of money, but it's not good for either us or him, having players who are not in the squad
Why does that matter one bit to anyone, maybe the catering staff at FF but that's about it. Madness.

He is taken a space or peg away from a kid who never had the chance. He wanted to train with the first team, moaned that he was fit and that the club have an agenda against him but he has had multiple opportunities to leave including playing first team at Villa during a promotion push but he personally terminated his own loan because our manager got sacked and he thought he could just walk back into the squad.

All his social media marketing of being positive and bigging up Everton is all good and well but he is a blockage - both financially and physically.

Without going all Koeman, his locker space like a few others, could be used by a Gordon, Small or other kid who wants his opportunity to fight for his Everton future.

Sporting Lisbon, Championship Aston Villa and Anderlecht, Middlesbrough (linked) are nowhere near Everton and Premier League football.

If he truly and I mean truly believed he is better than what Everton have, why hasn't he moved? Why hasn't he proved Everton wrong?

He is Deluded Fraud and the sooner he is gone the better for all, he gets to play football instead of kicking a ball in his garden and we can bring up a U23 player.

IF we are seriously looking at Dzeko to add some experience up front then Costa should be ahead of him in the queue.
Costa is younger, proven in the Premiership and available on a free,

....the issue is surely with those that offered him mega-bucks over such a long period. I have no issue with him sitting on that deal if loan offers don’t suit him and his family. It’s a great time to be an ordinary footballer. His time here will soon be up.

He’s nowhere near matchday squads so I don’t see why he’s standing in the way of youngsters.

Dzeko played 130 games for City and scored 50 goals, winning the league, FA cup and League cup.

Im not saying we should sign him but you cant say he isnt proven in the PL

They aren’t. Moyes was never the problem.

I have nothing against him sitting on his hands doing nothing and getting paid because we spent the money despite his injury gave him a stupid wage and he is entitled to it.

But don't come out and question why the club doesn't want you especially a manager like Carlo Ancelotti, thinking he should be given game time when he has blown every loan possiblity and walked out of an arrangement with Villa with notification to either club.

Then start giving it the Twitter Martyr.

Think of the impact he has on kids coming up who saw him on telly and FIFA then meet him and find a overpaid, whining and bitter player calling out the club.

I remember years ago when the club did interviews with the Under 21 and they would almost always say their best player in training was Van De Meyde - look how he turned out.

Rat Barkley was the same towards the end, cost us £20m but went in day after day sponging off the club in the gym, physio etc.

Bolasie has a negative effect. He is a prime advertisement of bloated spending and arrogant player which every club has by the way but some choose not to shine a light on themselves aka Besic, Pennington etc it doesn't make them any better of sitting out their deals but don't bite the hand that feeds you.

....I just tend to forget these players are here, they’re not worth getting ulcers over.

Only rumours online are:

A: Bernard to Roma off

B: Roma offering Dzeko to PSG in some weird swap for Icardi or Kean (which PSG arent keen on) and it says its odd because Kean is just there on loan.

C: Competing for a Norwegian 18 year old with Ajax and the usual suspects.

Pretty boring really...
Well I think they will find it difficult to loan players that arnt theirs somehow!
