Everton January transfer window 2021

People need to get their heads around the fact that we are no longer scraping round for emergency loans and stop gaps like we have for the last 20 years, and it is very unlikely that we will do business in January going forward, so I would give up worrying about transfer this month.

No and I`ve been reliably informed that Brands has spent the whole morning, with Jose Baxter, baking a batch of chocolate chip space cakes, in the staff kitchen at Finch Farm.
Rumour has it our deal for Zirkzee has fell through when we tried to pay for it with a suitcase of fake fivers...but you didn't hear it from me!

Our squad will be totally revamped come end of summer next season.

All of the following are likely to be gone:

OOC this summer
Bolasie
Besic
Pennington
Walcott

OOC next summer
Coleman
Tosun
Sigurdsson
Delph
Baningame
Lössl

+ Kean and Bernard almost certain to be sold.

I can potentially (although I'd disagree with it) see one-year extensions for Coleman/Sigurdsson, but I hope not.

We should be 10-12 players down from what we have contacted at the moment.

And the best thing is, we can lose all of the above and replace them with about 5 players and still end up with a squad of about 23-25 players, and much improved.

Superb.
Siggurdson and Coleman will definitely be given contract extensions
Carlo likes both of them ,trusts them and they will cost money to replace ,even if they are only used as squad players

Over the next few years it seems like Small, Nkounkou, Branthwaite, Onyango and Gordon could be part of the first team setup.

Thats 5 players costing circa £1mil in transfer fees.

Effectively it means all those incredibly expensive squad players on high wages would be replaced for pennies.

Im hoping Brands stays on and we can bring in or develop 5 more u21s. Then we could use our funds on starting players for the first 11 whilst having a second 11 full of highly promising youngsters.

The amount of money we would save could be huge and some used for incoming top class star players.
Gordon will not make it here
Branthwaite will ,the others its too early to tell
All IMO of course

I also think the trend to renew on the same terms will really start to decrease by 18 months time. You are already seeing it (look what James signed on for here). People don't want players who are 30+. If it's a year by year deal, and we can probably shave a big off the wages each time, why not? There will probably be no talk of contracts with either for anothe 12 months, keep the standards high and the incentive there for them.

We are starting to look like we have a bit of continuity and togertheness in the squad though. You're not going to want to chuck that away.
