If Brands wanted Gordon to push on (ie seen he has the potential )Gordon would get more game time

Seems a weird one offering Sigurdsson a contract extension when he's still got 17 months left on his contract now (ends June 30th 2022) and when that 17 months is up he won't be far off 33.

It's certainly a blot for Gordon that bernard gets on ahead of him. There is a line of thought though, that Gordon is learning every day and will be the better long term pick as and when Bernard goes. That Ancelotti is ultimately not rushing him, but waiting until he has mastered different aspects.
