Dunno but think our biggest issue at the minute is a lack of pace. These may good players but not what we need at the minute.
Disagree. We can't keep hold of the ball. Pace is different to speed of thought. Gomes gets caught out all the time because he dwells on the ball, James is equally slow but his mind is so far ahead. We need players who can retain possession, otherwise the ball keeps coming back at us. Hence Newcastle having about 20 corners today.

Grealish works well with Barkley - but James would also complement him.

Would love a midfield full of diverse technique and pace. Literally we have one decent player with great technique in James. Richarlison at a push. Other than that pretty much have a team of cloggers in the midfield.

It’s quite depressing looking at half the league and the way they all play and set up. They all have midfielders full of energy and decent technique. Compare that to some of our midfielders, it’s like we are playing 10 years behind with the likes of Gomes & Sigurdsson on the field. Zero pressing, zero eagerness, zero technique, zero pace.

It’s the Walcott one that puzzles me. I know he didn’t offer that much for us but he is still way better than any of Siggurdson Bernard Gordon and probably Iwobi this season. He could also have covered the central striker berth. I wasn’t that bothered when he went but even just having his pace to call on off the bench would give us a different dimension.

Walcott's main asset was that he made good runs in behind. Those are the sort of runs that James thrives on. Very strange to let him go indeed.

I'm hopeful it means Marcel has plans for who we can afford in the summer, and is going through the necessary pain in the meantime to get the targets we want eventually.

You could tell in his brief cameo v Brighton he wanted to go. Think the message from ancelotti is if he players want to go they can ...maybe him and brands need to remember they need to replace some of them too...

Cenk Tosun is heading back to Besiktas, initially on loan, with the striker all but confirming the deal on Twitter this evening.
According to reports, the Turkish international will return to the club from he joined Everton three years ago with the Instanbul club covering his wages for the remainder of the season.

No loan fee or obligation to buy appears to have been included in the loan arrangement and his departure will leave the Blues short in attack with Dominic Calvert-Lewin the only recognised out-and-out centre-forward on the books.

Quote tweeting Besiktas's farewell in 2018 when they suggested the two parties would meet again, Tosun said on the social media site: "Are we ready to make history again?"

Man makes history for the slowest sprint for the second time.
