I saw someone mention Draxler yesterday and I would be all over that like a tramp on chips. Not necessarily the position we need as a priority but another attacking player with class.
Have Brighton signed that South American kid that Tim Vickery has been proclaiming as the second coming or is that something we can hijack?

tbf we didn't have much choice but to sell him for 15m after the little rats deal for 30m broke down as he failed his medical with Chelsea

But for some mad reason he was only given a 4 yr deal the same summer lukaku got 5. And had his bad injury with 2 left. Really poor from the club for one of the most talented kids we’ve. Bought through in 30/40 yrs and was an international at 19

Maybe we are short of money.

I think it's been an open secret for the last 18 months that our wage bill was spiralling out of control. We had a LOT of bit-part players on HUGE salaries (and we still have a few now) who were underperforming so substantially that they were no use to us and of no interest to anyone else. The longer we remained paying out a couple of million a week in wages the worse the situation was going to get.

And then covid came along, and our income took a hammering.

Fast forward a few months and we're possibly at the stage where the budget projections for the next financial year are indicating that in order to remain financially viable the club has no choice but to offload several fringe players and get their wages shifted off of our payroll.
