What 2 players in the starting 11 do you think we can improve on in January window?
Although its obvious we need players in the financial situation of the last few years shows the issues with us improving our squad.

On todays evidence my primary position would be a sitter in midfield which wont happen because we have Allan, Gbamin and Delph in the squad which means we have to be content with what we have atm which could cost us big time in terms of top 6

The other position is defiantly another striker in and around the squad.

This is part of the problem. Allan's obviously good enough - he's probably our best CM, in fact. Delph, however, is poop and Gbamin isn't going to do much of anything for us before April. We actually need a pacy, young-ish, aggressive CM to come into the squad now, and he needs to be at least better than one of Doucoure and Allan.

If the reports earlier today of Watford sniffing around Delph are true then I'd happily sell him - he's got no future here and isn't presently good enough to even play ahead of Gomes or Davies. Clear more space on the payroll, bring in £3m or £4m in transfer fees and go get somebody young, fast and ambitious instead.

Agree 100% re the need for another forward too - not necessarily a striker because a wide man could be equally useful but the same principle applies - whoever comes in has to good enough to genuinely compete for a starting XI berth from day one.

That player probably costs an absolute forutne though, and won't be moving in January.

Cenk Tosun is heading back to Besiktas, initially on loan, with the striker all but confirming the deal on Twitter this evening.
According to reports, the Turkish international will return to the club from he joined Everton three years ago with the Instanbul club covering his wages for the remainder of the season.

No loan fee or obligation to buy appears to have been included in the loan arrangement and his departure will leave the Blues short in attack with Dominic Calvert-Lewin the only recognised out-and-out centre-forward on the books.

Quote tweeting Besiktas's farewell in 2018 when they suggested the two parties would meet again, Tosun said on the social media site: "Are we ready to make history again?"

No loan fee or obligation! Sake.

See you in July Cenk.
