Everton January transfer window 2021

Sorry mate, i dont agree. There is value in Tosun, i dont expect 27 million but 5-8 is realistic even a nominal loan fee. Its 12 months ago since he went to Palace on loan and we had agreed a fee of 17 mill if they wanted to keep him. There was also reported interest in him with these Turkish links from other countries. Im not expecting 10s of millions - but i expect a bit more then giving players away and the possibility of them boomaranging back in June, like Bolaise, Besic, Mirallas, Niasse, Martina etc. Its a proven flawed strategy. Then we are also short up front. We are really poor at getting something and anything for our players.

For them this is akin to us selling Lukaku for 90 mill and then getting him back on loan. Thats the leverage we should have used, every window their president was out in the media speaking about signing him, the player himself wants to go there, Fener just signed Ozil and clearly Besiktas need a signing to cultivate good will in their fanbase and match Fener to show they are ambitious to for their fans. Step forward Everton who will give you a club legend back for basically free.

Sorry i just dont see what the value of this is for Everton at all.

If we go to any other club and say give us your player for free - its a buyers market - what do you think we will be told.
It worked with James.

Makes sense that mate.
Club would never go for it.
We were scouting him a lot last season, supposedly had contact with his agent - he was being touted around for £20m though obviously can't be sure if we ever were in for him.

It'd make sense to try, though - and he's the perfect type of player for us. Did have a bad season last year which perhaps fairly stopped a move from us, but right now he'd add so much.

Think they may leave it until late deadline day to announce these deals, people will just become expectant of signings if they announce it now.

People are expectant of signings as it is.

Had we won yesterday we'd have been fifth, 3 points off third with 2 games in hand. As it is we're 8th, and we were crap yesterday and didn't have one actual forward to bring on to try and change the game.

Imagine if Rich or Dom get a knock - we genuinely have nobody else.

It's pathetic.

Yet we got a potential world class forward out on loan banging them in for a champions league side.

If the club were only interested when a player was playing badly, that explains some things

Why would leverkusen who are pushing for champions league sell one of the their best players now . It won't happen in this window .

So we getting Bailey or what

Leverkusen signing Demarai Gray.

There's scope there for a certain mr Bailey.

Again, show some intent and prove that we mean business.
I’m going to say with absolute certainty, that we won’t be signing Leon Bailey. Nor will Leverkusen let him go before the summer barring an obscene bid coming in.

I mean they scouted him last season though could understand being wary about spending limited funds last summer on a player who had had an offseason.

But it was just an offseason - he's been at probably his peak form since his first season at Leverkusen this year, playing in a slightly different role.

Fergusons decision.
Ancelloti is the manager and would have hoped he could get the best out of him FOR everton, not a champions league club one of the biggest in the world. Makes no sense
Ancelotti worked with him from December till September, gave him game time, didn’t impress even against a League Two side

Well, depends what you judge as obscene.

£30m might be judged as a fair amount by them.

But yeah, i'll acknowledge it's unlikely, just feels like the kind of move which should be made if we actually are serious about doing something this season.

Look at the teams around us.

I stand by it, we don't get Europe if we don't add to the squad - and the aim this season is to get Europe. Anything else will be considered a failure.
