The Lingard one is an interesting situation thoguh. They wanted to sell him for 40m. They have ended up loaning him for nothing. Lingard is an England international, who starred at a world cup with 20 odd caps. And they are loaning him out for no fee at present.
There is something to be said about the type of loans we have had. In fairness the PSG loan for Kean is a really good one. Brainthwaite and Blackburn the same. We are getting better but still some work to go.
I'm not saying you're wrong that we can't do better, but it's a market where prices are falling fast, and we have a load of end of the line, unwanted stock.
Its a 3 mill deal mate. 1.5 loan fee for the four months and 1.5 mill taken on his wage, thats for a four month loan deal its better then selling him for 40 mill, just under a million a month. I think you are stretching it a bit saying he starred at the world cup and im pretty sure if he came out of another clubs academy he would not have been capped by England in my honest opinion. Same way if Ossie had come through at Utd i think he would have gotten more England caps.
We're awful at out mate and we really need to drill down into where its going wrong, these boomerarng loans are just no value in the long term and overall deplting in of value.
Overall the Tosun deal is useless, but it part of a wider problem with our transfer dealings.
