Everton January transfer window 2021

Perisic was always a player I loved to watch and had a frightening amount of pace, but I don't know what he's like now as I haven't seen much of him over the last 18 months and he's now 31.

But type his name in on Twitter and see what Inter fans think of him. It's like reading Evertonian opinions on Schneidelin or something.
Did he not win the Champions League with Bayern last season. Or did I dream that?

Then it's negligent and shooting ourselves in the foot when we have the best chance in years to actually push on.

We slate players like Rom for leaving but he knew the score in 2017.

It cripples this club.
Didnt Lukaku cancel contract negotiations because we didnt sign Manolo Gabbiadini?

Yep, I guess we will know once and for all today whether the club has any actual ambitions for the season, or whether it’s just another season of mediocrity at EFC.

Which if the latter, kind of defeats the point of bringing in Carlo on such big money, unless the long term plan was always for after this season, when a load more of the horrific signings on long term contracts are finally gone.

2 good signings today could be the difference between CL and not making Europe at all. (although i believe we will be top 6 without any signings today) There's a massive gaping hole for the 2 places behind City and Liverpool to go for and we should seize upon it.

If we were going to spend in Jan we wouldn't leave it to the last day, Loan is the best option and the chances of a loan player having such an impact is very low odds. Think people need to accept that we're making much outgoings as possible for money to spend in the summer and whatever happens this season happens whether we like it or not. If we don't make top 6 it'll be our own fault because too many matches like Newcastle happens not because we didn't make a signing.

I don't care if we spend or get a loan in - we need a player in. That should have been done already but now with up to 4 players leaving today (hopefully), that's saved around 300-350k weekly wages, plus hopefully a fee for Bernard.

Something has to be done.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Leicester, United, City, Liverpool

They're all finishing above this squad as is barring some real luck with injuries on our side.

That's not me being negative. It's me being realistic. We can't control games and have no option to change things up.

However, all those teams around us are mightly inconsistent too. But it's strength in depth which will get them through. We simply don't have that.

The bloated squad isn't even a thing either now. It's bloated in one area - central midfield - and one of those players is Delph and the other hasn't played in 18 months.

It's not really though. It doesn't have to be a world beater, but a player who comes in and offers something a bit different could just be the catalyst for a great run. Look at someone like Jelavic coming in and the impact he had in that first few months. There are plenty of others who've done a similar thing too. I'm not saying it will happen obviously, but I don't agree that you necessarily have to be a great player to have a big impact over a short period, particularly if you offer something the team otherwise doesn't have. A player with pace for example, could completely change the way we play, and make everybody look better.

What honestly gives you confidence about top 6 mate after January’s performances? Serious question!

Man U will claim a place, they have quality in Fernandes, Rashford etc, Chelsea will surely improve under Tuchel and have the squad to do so, Spurs fully loaded have better options than us and Leicester despite losing yesterday looked a significantly better side than us last week and going forward will win more than they lose.
