Everton January transfer window 2021

It's not though, we aren't good enough yet. It's about getting 6th and progressing past Spurs.

I mean I think top 4 is up for grabs, but it's quite unlikely. We have to have most things role for us to do so (continue our form, and hope all of our comeptitor remain up and down).

The issue is, on deadline day, are we going to be able to secure the signing that tilts it further in our favour?

The wider question is, was this the window to change tact, the owner/DOF and invest more. For their own reasons they clearly feel it's not.

Top 4 is up for grabs this season.

The club should realise that.
Im sure it’s not lost on them.

This clear out is a massive statement.

The illusion of a deep squad is gone.

Whether what we need is available is an entirely different matter. Also don’t know what the financial position is. It may be dire.

The team is not good, we've spent 60m and finished 12th last season, Getting top 4 would be an almighty task and it's not helped that one of our best players has been virtually off form all season. One player is not changing this team unless his name is Bruno Fernandes, The signs all point towards improvement but this season it might just be too much for this thin squad.
That's not the point.

We have no attacking options to change games up. Our subs have contributed to 2 league assists all season, and no goals.

We were playing pretty good stuff at the start of the season but it got derailed by Richarlison's suspension, which again showed up the lack of risk mitigation in not getting a forward in at the end of the last window.

That bad run saw us concede a lot and Carlo had to get a new way of playing. Now we have to find a way to merge that solidity with a bit of attacking flair so that when we go up against teams that do to us what we've been doing to other sides on the road or at home before Xmas, we have enough quality to play through them.

One player goes an awful long way to giving us a few different ways to play for the rest of the season, so that come the summer, we've done all we can to build a good platform this season and hopefully get Europe.

Carlo and Brands have both said the target this season is Europe. With the squad as it is now, we're going to have to get very, very lucky to get top 6/7.

You would have to say that after January’s performances and results, mid table is actually far more likely than top 6.

It's the DoF's job to create wiggle room in the finances.

If our situation is so dire, then we should be accepting an actual transfer fee for Kenny rather than just letting Celtic cover his wages for 6 months.

Pedro Neto absolutely must be on the shopping list this Summer. Ticks all the boxes; wide forward, left-footed, skillful, rapid, creative.
Neto is a player. Would love to see him at Goodison.

Matheus Pereira could be a shout if WBA go down. James-lite but is very creative and silky and I'd have him as a Sigs replacement every day of the week and twice on a Sunday. Add to our Brazil contingent, too

Yes mate I know.

I’m not disagreeing what we should do. But it’s clear we aren’t going to do that, so I’m just facing up to the inevitable now.

Then it's negligent and shooting ourselves in the foot when we have the best chance in years to actually push on.

We slate players like Rom for leaving but he knew the score in 2017.

It cripples this club.

If we were going to spend in Jan we wouldn't leave it to the last day, Loan is the best option and the chances of a loan player having such an impact is very low odds. Think people need to accept that we're making much outgoings as possible for money to spend in the summer and whatever happens this season happens whether we like it or not. If we don't make top 6 it'll be our own fault because too many matches like Newcastle happens not because we didn't make a signing.
