The club has a chance to progress if they finish in a European spot, which then means you can attract a better type of player to the club.

Just having Ancelotti isn’t enough. It’s good, but not enough.

We probably aren’t going to do that with what we have in reserve to the first XI.

The issue is that the kids people meant have either gone (Simms and Branthwaite) or still aren't being used (Gordon, Nkounkou). If we'd got rid of Tosun so that Simms became the bloke we chucked on for 15 minutes to chase a goal I'd have been right behind it. We haven't though, so it kind of ruins your point.

He clearly wouldn’t have ever been picked.

If we want players like him to make it, they need some first team experience somewhere.

Nothing like a full on meltdown after a sh*t everton loss is there. All across twitter and the forum, the negativity is shocking. I know it was a bad result and we need to do some business in the window but christ, we're not the finished article yet.

We can't expect the club to shift out all deadwood and replace them with quality players in one season. That's just not realistic financially. I know it's a season of opportunity but I still think we have a squad capable of competing this year. We then build on in the summer.

If you think of the clearing of the wage bill we get by shifting Tosun, Bolasie, Bernard etc. then it sets us up to having a cracking summer (much like the additions of Allan, Doucs, Godfrey, James). I know we're all hungry for success but I think a little more patience is needed

....from what I can see, the players who are leaving have had little game time and when they have been introduced off the bench have not had a positive impact on games. Other than making up numbers, we are losing absolutely nothing with their absence.

Thats just insane if you think about it. We have so little quality and nobody brought in to address depth in our squad that we are effectively going to be playing with 13 players for the rest of the season? We had literally everyone fit except for Allan for the Newcastle game and were absolutely pushed around for most of the time. How is that an effective way to challenge for Europe as is the remit for this year?
