Nothing like a full on meltdown after a sh*t everton loss is there. All across twitter and the forum, the negativity is shocking. I know it was a bad result and we need to do some business in the window but christ, we're not the finished article yet.

We can't expect the club to shift out all deadwood and replace them with quality players in one season. That's just not realistic financially. I know it's a season of opportunity but I still think we have a squad capable of competing this year. We then build on in the summer.

If you think of the clearing of the wage bill we get by shifting Tosun, Bolasie, Bernard etc. then it sets us up to having a cracking summer (much like the additions of Allan, Doucs, Godfrey, James). I know we're all hungry for success but I think a little more patience is needed

It's just really difficult to look at the weekend's performance, and the state of our bench, and be jovial.

That’s all well and good next season but look at our bench at the weekend and then look at it against Leeds next game and think to yourself surely we aren’t one or two injuries away from disaster really?

I’m all for getting rid of deadwood, we aren’t really because they’re just being loaned out and will be back next season but it’s very short sighted to just let players go without some form of replacements lined up, squad is very very thin now. No matter how you try and sugar coat it.

Which has been thrown down the toilet.

So at that point you either appoint a Moyes/Alladyce and reign in the spending or you appoint a Carlo Ancelotti and properly back him.

We've opted for the latter paying him a hefty salary therefore help him bring success to the club.
So basically we've signed the right manager at completely the wrong time?

If we knew we had no money to spend we would have been better appointing a progressive manager who could improve our current players

Absolutely amazing that we could see Lossl, Kenny, Pennington, Branthwaite, Besic, Bolasie, Bernard, Tosun all leave the club in this window with only really Branthwaite having any hope of coming back. That’s an amazing amount of players to be deemed non essential in the middle of a season when squads are being tested by injuries. An awful lot of wages tied up in those names just to have them warming the bench or kicking balls round finch farm.
Tosun and Kenny are definitely coming back.

But we are the only team in the football league unable to have a striker on the bench, or even an attacking player.

No sugar coating makes that right or acceptable.

Honestly don’t know how some of your coped when we didn’t spend any actual money for about 3 years.

Some bad petulant behaviour in here today.

Probably because in them days especially under Moyes we had a good nucleas of a team and had a range of depth on the bench should we pick up injuries from now until the end of the season we dont have anything really.
