Everton January transfer window 2021

Mina in the right system and with a settled defence looks great to me. He has removed a lot of the errors from his game. HIT

Gbamin - cant blame anyone other than our medical team and poor luck.

Branthwaite looks like a bigger steal than Seamus Coleman. HIT

Kean was a calculated, asymetric gamble that will, at worst get us our money back.

Olsen has looked really good. Nkonkou looks like another Branthwaite type signing. He nailed his colurs to the mast too on how good he thought DCL would become.

His record is pretty decent overall and apart from Iwobi, we have not overpaid, which we were criminally guilty of in the past. If we can have a similar window to last summers at the end of this season, we will be set fair for 21-22.

I think having the Ancelotti brand has helped Brands but they have worked well together and I would be loathe to split them. Just look at the team sheet the day Fat Sam took us to Arsenal and they were 4 up after 35 minutes.

That is progress.
It'll only be progress when we actually progress though. The team looking better on paper is all well and good, but as I said earlier, 3 years later we're no higher in the table, we're still playing dull football, and the average age of the team is probably not too dissimilar. We've given ourselves a chance of doing something with a good first half of the season, if we make the most of that and use it as a springboard then that's progress. If we don't finish higher than 8th, having finished 7th and 8th in the 2 seasons before Brands came in, you'd be hard pressed to argue that there's been real progress I think.

How do you know that?

For all you know Ancelotti called up his old Real Madrid bosses and pushed that along for us.

He doesn't come here without Carlo. Regardless of Brands super negotiating skills.

Because he's a manager. He's always worked with a DoF so I doubt he'd suddenly get all involved in bids and contract negotiations.

Keep living with your head swirling in LSD though, Jake.

We've been swerved by Josh King, who says we're small time and is going to Fulham after they agreed to his £200k a week wages, lots getting a bit panicky about us trying to clear out loads of players who don't play and world football thinks Brands is a fraud

(Not much going on)

Sami Khedira away to Hertha which is good news and Zirkzee away on loan to Parma.

prob more about clearing the decks.

Clearing the decks is usually fine, but this season is a hell of a chance to get up the table the way results are all over the show.

Brands letting Kean go and still not replacing him is criminal now.

Our bench on Saturday was utter gash for attacking options, in fact, I don’t think we even named the allowed amount of subs did we ?

If Josh King is the only player we’re are trying to sign, I would rather go with what we’ve got, we will want rid by the summer #gash
