Everton January transfer window 2021

Except that as being in charge of the transfers those are all players he signed. I just don't buy that removing players arbitrarily is a good way to evaluate how Brands is doing.
Even if you don't remove them as I said hes still only 50/50 on his signings.

It's not arbitrary to suggest that he doesn't deserve full credit for bringing in a player the manager clearly told him to. If he was that good then we would be seeing the signings he clearly made on his own stepping up and impressing and bar Digne and Godfrey most of them are not.

Debatable. At best hes at 50/50 with half of the hits being obviously picked by the manager at the time.

Hits
Digne, Richarlison, James, Allan, Doucoure, Godfrey.

Misses
Bernard, Gomes, Lossl, Iwobi, Delph, G'Bamin, Kean

Jury Out
Olsen, Braithwaite, Mina (still not convinced here)

Its better than Walsh but hardly amazing.
Mina in the right system and with a settled defence looks great to me. He has removed a lot of the errors from his game. HIT

Gbamin - cant blame anyone other than our medical team and poor luck.

Branthwaite looks like a bigger steal than Seamus Coleman. HIT

Kean was a calculated, asymetric gamble that will, at worst get us our money back.

Olsen has looked really good. Nkonkou looks like another Branthwaite type signing. He nailed his colurs to the mast too on how good he thought DCL would become.

His record is pretty decent overall and apart from Iwobi, we have not overpaid, which we were criminally guilty of in the past. If we can have a similar window to last summers at the end of this season, we will be set fair for 21-22.

I think having the Ancelotti brand has helped Brands but they have worked well together and I would be loathe to split them. Just look at the team sheet the day Fat Sam took us to Arsenal and they were 4 up after 35 minutes.

That is progress.

I think everyone really needs to calm down on Branthwaite.

He looked OK in a few games thrown in the deep end last year but it is far too early to be making any guess as to whether he will be a player for us or not.

Nkounkou goes in that category for me too.

It's all very counting chickens before they've hatched to me.

You honestly think Brands is the only person in the world who could have signed James for a free?

Its the same situation as us and the likes of Bolasie. They were desperate to punt him off their wage bill to anyone who would take him.

Don't believe I said he's the only person I just pointed out that bit had nothing to do with Ancelotti.

Which I believe is very obvious.
