Purely On the back of Carlos rep and the hope he gets us competing sooner than later, won’t be many top players who’ll want to come to compete for a top 10 place no matter who the manager is

If it happened last Summer, it can happen next Summer. Can't just use Carlo's rep as a reason one year and then switch it off another.

Ugh when are we going to stop doing this
Never.

I'm not going to be giving Brands credit for signing the players the managers picked for their team from their old clubs. Why should he be getting credit for those?

Its no coincidence that half of his successful signings played under the manager previously. To ignore that fact is just an attempt to portray Brands as more successful than he has been.

Indeed, but while they do we're pissing away a golden chance at European football in a topsy turvy league season, because we have no squad depth.

That's my frustration - we've spent in January before when the season had been over in October because of a terrible start, but we're not spending now when we have a great chance of kicking on.

When the crowd is back next season, we're knackered - the mental midget Michael Keane will be back to his old self.

Just frustrates me.
I just look at Allan and James, both great additions but we aren't going to have them around for the long term. To make the most of them, we need Europe next season. Maybe King will help do that and I can get on board with that but I don't understand how people can look at what may be a bench of u21s and think that's good planning for football.

It could be worse :(

It's weird - people keep saying that's a teamsheet, but all I can see is this.

Because he's in charge of transfers.

Debatable. At best hes at 50/50 with half of the hits being obviously picked by the manager at the time.

Hits
Digne, Richarlison, James, Allan, Doucoure, Godfrey.

Misses
Bernard, Gomes, Lossl, Iwobi, Delph, G'Bamin, Kean

Jury Out
Olsen, Braithwaite, Mina (still not convinced here)

Its better than Walsh but hardly amazing.

Bernard isn't a miss if we get a decent fee.

The same is true for Kean.

Think Gomes is harsh, and Gbamin... well, that's just unfortunate.

I think the only misses for him are Iwobi and Deph.

Iwobi was a shocker.
