Everton on TV in USA

Great news lads. Dish Network just posted along the screen Setanta discontinuing service 3/1 and replacing it is FSC+ for no extra charge. I hope it's shown in HD.(y)

My Setanta is still broadcasting.

And by "no extra charge," I think they mean that you'll continue to pay what you did for Setanta for the new FSCP channel.

I believe it'll be in HD as well. Which is better than Setanta which was a regular analog signal.

Ok i just spent 25 minutes on the phone with Direct TV. They told me this:
* Setanta will cease to operate as Setanta on Feb 28th.
* The channel formerly offered as Setanta will be called "Fox Soccer Plus", but will be identical programming/offerings.
* It will still be a separate, $15 monthly charge for this one channel
* Operator could not tell me anything about whether it is HD or not, she said she doesn't have that information
* Regular FSC channel is still on the Sports Pack, a different programming package (that's the one i have) that shows UEFA, Europa, and La Liga games along with a few EPL matches sprinkled on FSC itself. This package is still $12.99/month
* FSC Plus will not include the original FSC channel; only the "Setanta" stuff.

So basically for Direct TV customers, nothing is changing but the name of the channel. Sounds similar to Dish Network. Based on what you guys said, I'd assume the DirectTV version of the same channel will be in HD as well. I don't know if it's worth the extra $15/month for me for the one channel. More Everton games are shown on FSC than Setanta/FSC+ anyway, cumulatively..... plus FSC/Sports Pack is cheaper for me.

Honestly I just wish they'd put it all in one package for us. I'd pay $20 for said package.

I have Dish and have had Setanta for a couple of years. Dish did what they said they would and only kept it in standard definition not HD as of yet. I have a funny thought the 14.99 may go up if they do.

Everton vs. Hull City, Sunday, March 7, at 11AM EDT (LIVE) on FSC.

oooo! at the risk of getting flamed i'll just say that i'm excited at the prospect of watching jozy on the same pitch with donovan & howard in a non-USMNT game. :D

that said, i don't know if jozy is in favor of brown at the moment, don't think he saw the pitch in the last hull match.

Did anyone notice during the FSC broadcast of the Hull game....?

During one of the replay discriptions of Arteta's 2nd goal, the commentator is describing the goal, there was a slight pause, and then he adds "beautifully crafted" just as the camera shot changes to Arteta's wife.

Pure coincidence but I laughed both times I watched it. Indeed!

Closest to a sexual reference / innuendo in a FSC broadcast ever. That is until Terri Leigh goes crazy and rips her top off.

You know where to catch the Everton Bolton game in the states? That time EST? 10:00am?

FSC (Fox Soccer Channel). I'm showing 5 a.m. EST on Saturday, 8 a.m. PST.

If that's too early, FSC will re-air the match in the evening, at 11 p.m. EST, 8 p.m. PST.

FSC is channel 619 if you have Direct TV. Don't know the cable channel. :pint:
