Good piece Esk. I think people need to realise there is hardly a club in Europe that isn't a selling club, selling a top player is sometimes necessary in order to bring more quality in to change the team, and this team needs big changes. I'd be sorry to see Stones go for example, but if it means bringing in 4 or 5 quality players who can change the team dynamic then so be it.

Surely the new players we buy will be replacing the released players, so shouldn't that be taken into account on the overall wage increase? Even if it only covers the pay rises of rom and Barkley?

Yes I'd agree with this. With no Europe this year, I can't see us adding 5 players on 120k per week plus then another 4 players to replace hibbert, howard, pienaar and Osman. In reality, we'll probably bring 4 or 5 in. Some of it will depend on how impressed RK is with academy players. If we brought in say 4 or 5 then the actual amount of the jump would be much less.

Just lie, surely?

Given how massively incompetent/corrupt all of the governing bodies are, I'm pretty sure no-one would even notice, let alone care

I think they wouldn't have been on what we are likely to be paying to attract the quality of player needed to take the club forward, given we have no European football to offer this season.
I just thought between them they would amount to 7-10mill a year, then if we can off load niasse, kone and mcgeadys wages, are we then not in a position where a stones sale isn't inevitable? Although I'm probably missing something and just hoping for the best, bit of an optimist me!:)

To be fair these sums are based on paying 5 new players 120k which would suggest huge transfer fees as well.

Guarantee we won't sign 5 players demanding that level of wages, I can understand one being signed and the likes of rom being offered it but I can't see us do8ng it over 7 or 8 players.

I may be nit picking on the exact numbers but I'd imagine the wage will be a few million lower at least

@The Esk what kind of ramifications if any would you envision on the club during the ground build does the outlay of the ground effect balancing books also would it be possible that the naming rights of stadium could be sold once grounds been cracked on the site improving the income on balance side of sheet or does it need to be built and operational under guidelines of fair play ect

Five signings on £120k p/w?! *faints

I'd really rather not lose Stones, but if its necessary then so be it. I'd rather see Lukaku go than John, but I suppose its easier to find centre halfs than it is 20+ goal a season strikers. Also it'd be tedious to go through another will he wont he summer with Stones. Apart from City I can't see where else he would go though.

So we cant really sign/pay top wages unless Stones goes?

Doesnt really strengthen our hand in any negotiations does it?

Or have I missed the point?
