Everton, our summer transfers and short term cost control regulations

I don't believe Moshiri will do this, he'll want a complete acquisition programme this summer. He can fund the increase in salaries which is purely a technical restriction either by as I say a player sale or by boosting sponsorship revenues. My view is he'll allow 1 player to leave to achieve this - Stones is the ideal candidate and wants to leave for City anyway.

hmmm... I'm not convinced.

I'm sure however, he's looking 5 year projections also. So whilst I'm not convinced right now. Does not mean I cannot be.

Financial penalties or ultimately points deduction.

Yes we could do a short term naming rights deal on Goodison to help boost non broadcasting revenues.

I've got it sorted.
Break all the financial rules and buy everyone to win the the league by 12 points.
Take a ten point deduction and still win the league.

correct, google short term cost control rules premier league. - it relates specifically to capping the increase in salaries to £7 million a year, each year for the next 3 years unless there is a corresponding rise in non-broadcasting revenues.

Just got there on my own now. As far as I'm aware no Premier League team has yet to be sanctioned by the Premier League for exceeding those salary expenditure limits. The actual Premier League document (http://www.premierleague.com/conten...handbooks/premier-league-handbook-2015-16.pdf) doesn't seem to outline the penalties for breaking individual rules.

I don't think a team has been sanctioned because the new rules are only just taking effect now. It's to prevent teams from spunking all of the new broadcast money on wages.

...I want us to be astute in the market. I'm not for a Manchester City approach of buying all that is out there for inflated prices. They might have won a title but there is no sole in that side, no strategy.

The owner wants a marqui signing. Alan Ball was a marqui signing at 21 after being MoM in a World Cup final. I'm hoping the manager has a team model/shape and is buying the blend he needs. Blend is such an important ingredient and we shouldn't forget we have decent footballers and a few youngsters coming through.

Players who help the cause, please. Blend, please.

Probably already been mentioned on here but Brazil on TS this morning telling Parry that he had a text telling him Stones to City was a done deal

Actually these rules have been in place since 2014. We just really weren't affected by the salary increase part, mostly the avoiding a loss and growing debt part.

The rules first came in 3 years ago mate and limited salary increases to £4m or increases in non broadcasting income. This year that increase is £7 million for each of the 3 years assuming the wage bill is above £67 million (from memory)

Everywhere I'm looking all I see as far as penalties are "Potential penalties include:" without anything outlined explicitly on case by case basis. Surely if you are going to administer these rules and some form of punishment it has to be laid out so that the clubs are aware of what sanctions they can face if they break the rules?

Much rather sell Lukaku over Stones. Stones is a quality player, and being English his price will only increase, especially as he trains under Koeman.

Lukaku on the other hand, his record is good yes, that's undeniable, but do we see him improving anywhere near as much as Stones? Do we see the ability to make as much money on him as we will now?

I'd rather sell Lukaku even if we didn't get a direct placement for him. Give Niasse a go or give Mirallas a chance up front.

It's arbitrary mate, but that's the Premier League for you!
