Fan comments
"So who goes to the left and right of Windass. Under no circumstances can it be Connolly as he should be back at Everton by now surely"
"Connolly and Dunkley were rotten"
"Connolly, vacant. Doesn't put a shift in, gives the ball away cheaply. Makes a lot of mistakes. Doesn't look comfortable anywhere in midfield."
"Robinson stayed at home for almost the entire game, was afraid to get forward."
"Connolly must be the only player I know that has ever managed to stay invisible as a central midfield player. He has a special talent for hiding. At least Morsy never hides, always looks for the ball and puts his foot in, I remember Connolly ****ing out of one early on which set the tone. Him, Dunkley, Burn were abysmal today. Robinson was okay by his standards considering they targeted him hard down that side knowing he was the weak link. The break looks to have done him good."
...much appreciated. Still looking glum, it’s going to be very difficult for any of these youngsters to force themselves into contention at Everton. Indeed, it might be difficult moving them on given they’ll be on very decent contracts. I’m still surprised Pennington in particular was given a 3 year deal.
