I've said it before but Garbutt has never been any good in senior football. Save for a couple of good set pieces in the Europa League that got everybody excited, his best spell came when he was playing in League 2. He's a poor defender, always has been. He can cross and he looks elegant on the ball but even when he was playing league 1 for Colchester their fans were talking about his deficiencies. Giving him a 5 year contract (supposedly on £25k a week) has to be one of the worst pieces of business the club has ever done, and that is no mean feat.

..he did, Matey. I couldn’t for the life of me understand why he signed a new contract. At that stage his stock was high and he could’ve gone on a lucrative Bosman. Also, there was no chance of removing Baines. It now looks like he was comfortable with that situation. I remember posting at the time that if I was advising him, he’d be off.

As in all walks of life, Football is made up of different types. £100k per month to go training every day with your Mates isn’t a bad old life.

At Wigan v Sheffield Wed, Robinson's first game, very talented, not sure about his position at full back, thought he was playing winger until realised he was full back? Paul Cook encourages attacking play? At the Notts Forest game on Saturday which confirmed my reservations about full back. Understand why Everton have given him 3 year contract as he has great pace, very skilful, loads of confidence and will watch his progress with interest.

He gets in a week what most nurses earn in a year. You'd hope he at least has a sense of just how obscenely lucky he is.

NB. Ashley Williams sent off for Stoke when he lost it and dived in with 4th poor tackle - Martina stayed on the bench.

As mentioned by @Tin-Tin in the Youth Teams thread, Williams confirmed loan to Bolton (with recall option).

Interesting that option. Wonder if that says anything about Baningime and his injury - last season you would have thought he was the next one up? Maybe Silva hasn't really had a chance to take a look at him because he has been out.

Unless they consider Schneiderlin and Baningime as one position. Makes sense if one or both get injured we might need Williams back.
