Transfer Rumour Everton poised to make £25m bid for Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney

I'm delighted Everton have walked away to be honest. I don't think £25 million is enough money to lose Tierney, I'd rather keep him as he's going to be absolutely crucial to us over the next few years especially regarding getting to the CL group stages, which nets us around £40 million anyway. He's far too important to the club to let go for that amount, we would be short changing ourselves. He will prove to be one of the best Scottish players that we have produced in decades, we simply can't let him walk for that kind of money. His credentials so far have eclipsed even the likes of Dalglish when he was young, he's the first player in Scottish football history to be awarded young player of the year three times running. His potential is absolutely massive.

Tierney doing work yesterday, his final ball is outstanding..

From Lukaku last summer:

"I dont know what the boards plan is, but there were some players I knew the club could have got and they didnt, and they're playing in this league. I am not saying names, but they are doing well"

We are being duped lads. Guarantee the next season we spend big again is when Pickford goes, as with Stones and Lukaku before him.

Yeh, thats why marcel joined.

He`d lose them the most consecutive league titles Toby Jug Trophy no problem.
"Yeah, they may have won the European Cup in the past but that was before it was the Champions League so people don't really take it all that serious. [Snorts, sips drink] I could have won it back then with those lads. Still wouldn't have the credit I deserve like. [Taps table, shakes head]"

Marcel's whole remit is buying on the cheap mate. His actual ability in finding the odd highly successful bargain is useful no doubt but in the Premier League that has to be complimented by spending money on highly rated potential/ top quality players.

We simply won't go anywhere with this adopted method of pulling the plug over a £5 million difference valuation.

If Celtic wanted £40 million+ for him then fair enough but a £5 million difference - that doesn't even get you a championship player these days.

Who else should we go for?
Bertrand? Southampton would want £25 million minimum

Shaw?
Rose?

Both would go for minimum £30 million in the current market.

We will go down the road of signing a load of unknown south american carp like Watford do fpr £10 million here, £15 million there and be happy with a top 10 scrappy finish.

Thats the height of this boards current ambition- Silva has a hell of a task on his hands.

Now you may call me a tad picky here, but I'm detecting a slightly negative attitude towards Allardyce in your posts, Connor.

Got to the European Cup final in 1970 as well, lost in extra time to Feyenoord. Not bad for eleven Scottish alkies !!!
