Everton reopen talks with Sam Allardyce

Until the end of the season and if he keeps us up I don't care. It is a mess that it's got to that stage but it's where we are thanks to the board. It's better than what we've had for five weeks which is no proper manager.

Very sad news...Sam will take us back years in regards of footballing progression :-(
This whole situation has set us back :( I just hope we get through it and survive otherwise I highly doubt the stadium will go ahead.

Typical this farce happens to close to the stadium situation getting close. Now investors are probably going to wait it out a bit longer.

Not only that but we have sold all our Crown Jewels now, so the whole selling the best players to fund transfers won't work either.

It’s not so much that it’s Allardyce. It’s what he represents. His appointment means that Everton’s plans last summer failed abysmally, it means we couldn’t attract any other manager, it means that Moshiri has no clue what he’s doing, it means there’s no strategy at the club other than Bill and Suntan Bob’s avoid relegation at any price then sit back and do nothing. It means that the good parts of Moyes and Martinez’s work: the academy that produced Barkley Davies Dowell, the recruitment system that unearthed John Stones and Holgate will now all go to ruin as we look to play percentages and stay in the league. It means that any player of any ambition knows we’re a charlatan club who can’t be trusted when we approach them to sign.

Stadium work aside (and it’s a watching brief on that). We’ve been had by a most unholy partnership of ineptitude between Kenwright and Moshiri. To end up being in the position with the squad we now have necessitating the hiring of Sam Allardyce is nothing short of gross negligence.

Without too much hard work we could have been presiding over a young team of top British talent Barkley Davies Dowell Lookman Stones Holgate and s hungey young top striker brought in with the Lukaku money, all playing under a progressive attacking manager showcase on European competition.

Instead we have cancerous mercenary warts infested throughout the club from Koeman to Schneiderlin, Walsh to Williams, top to bottom everyone is here only for a slice of some dollar coin.

We deserve so much better. They have taken one of the finest institutions in the game and played monopoly with it. We’ve put up with embarrassment after embarrassment and then they go and hire Sam Allardyce. F off Everton you arseholes.

What a great post

No guarantee at all.

When he went into Palace last season they took one point from his first five games or so.

A similiar run here and toxicity at Goodison will be off the scale, such is the widespread dismay at the thought of him joining us.

And look at the mess Palace are in now, which seems to be what happens after he leaves every club a year or two later.

They go down under the weight of overpaid mecenarues and yard dogs he brings into the club.

In all fairness mate, a lot of that is down to De Boer going there and trying to turn them into Ajax over night

Dreadfully disappointed if true, but I need to get rid of this awful feeling that plagues me after every Everton match this season. I think it is a mixture of humiliation, anger and sadness. Beggars can't be choosers and right now that is what Everton have become. If SA gets us out of this mess and up the table, gives us a fighting chance in the derby and actually forces Moshiri's hand in reviewing the footballing side of the club including the Board & player recruitment then I will take it. We cannot afford to drop out of the PL with BMD now within touching distance.

Nah. Relegation is mate, i am with you, hes not who we all wanted, but hes got a track record of keeping clubs up. Thats the priority now, we cant be relegated. the club is broken

Mate it's the damage he does to the club it's not just as he's fat Sam. Kiss goodbye to all our youngsters Barkley etc

So he keeps us and wins a cup would all the bitches on here with they’re claws out still be complaining? No you wouldn’t stop moaning and get behind the players and manager whoever it is. We pride ourselves on being the best fans so let’s keep it that way and support fat sam
