Allardyce exits Everton after six miserable months with his reputation as a survival specialist intact. Therein lies the failure. Everton, as the 63-year-old admitted when installed as Ronald Koeman’s replacement in November, represented the best opportunity of his club career to shatter preconceptions about his management style. He succeeded only in confirming they were legitimate. Wretched football on a weekly basis, taking responsibility for victory while abdicating it in defeat and an arrogant dismissal of supporters were not the basis for building consensus or hope for the future. Not that the Everton hierarchy have delivered on that score.

Fair play to The Guardian

One of the few media outlets not belittling Everton on this matter
Allardyce left Sunderland and Palace after keeping them up (with his same style of limited football),it makes you wonder what lies Moshiri told him that made him think he was staying on longer here.

Can't keep sacking managers every year... and paying 12 million for 7 months work wtf is wrong with this club?

With a little bit of ambition on the pitch allardyce could have set himself up here as a good manager. All it would have taken was attacking teams and not playing relegation battle tactics.
But he's never shown in his career that he's capable of anything other than the survivalist game he sets teams up to play.Yet it seems our genius owner saw something nobody else ever has.

Fat Sam....

“The former England boss endured a fractious relationship with the club's hierarchy in recent weeks and was fuming after a re-structure of his backroom staff.

Everton's board exacted sweeping changes without Allardyce's input and the manager had said he was 'disgusted' at the failure to consult him.

'I'm shocked, disappointed and disgusted that the football club didn't have the decency to tell me, my Director of Football and my staff about the changes,' he had said.

'They must have been in the pipeline for a considerable time but no-one thought to tell me and my staff. I'm pretty disgusted.”

The ego of the man is incredible, why and on what planet would he have been consulted about board changes.......

When and where did he say this ?

I prefer to think of it as continuing our search for excellence and not being happy with mid-table, if we have to sack people then so be it.

Moshiri I guess needed to keep sam and his staff motivated - can you imagine what would have happened if Sam and his staff decided to kick back and do nothing - even being motivated and thinking they would be here next season resulted in the utter turdfest we witnessed for the last 6 months.

If they had been told that their number was up at the end of the season, then our club would have been dragged to the seventh level of hell.
