Regardless of the goal today I though he did really well and was always offering an option inside for lookman and Lennon.

It's so comforting knowing he can just pull the trigger like that, which is something Rom couldn't do from that distance.

He did have a few stray passes out wide but nothing major.

i've said it to any fooker who'd listen to me for the last couple of years, he's still a player and got loads to offer. He'll really bring on our mobile players like davies, lookman, Mirallas, Lennon who''l make runs through teams and the chubby lad will find the pass.
 
Andy Dunn has written a bit of a sinister article on Rooney's return to the Blues in the Mirror. Some may agree with what he's written but it's quite cynical. Sorry can't post a link.
 

to be fair class is permanent but the legs may not be. see what he's doing 15 games into the season before making a judgement.
 

I don't know but hoping Rooney gets a big boost of motivation coming back to us. Still can be important to us and another boost to all the players around him. He is highly respected by footballers and that could work in our favour....hopefully.
 
I reckon he will have to be a little craftier at his age, but it was a promising sign from him. It was also an amazing assist from Lookman btw. He caught it out of the air, shook 2-3 defenders and nutmegged the defender with the pass to find Rooney. Class goal
 
Nice little trot out for him he did well dropping deep and a good goal from range but we will need runners off him if he plays upfront regularly.
