This trip to Tanzania was by all accounts, the first one by a PL team to Africa, (other than South Africa), and the reception was just amazeballs.

Rooney main focus, obvs, oh, and Bolashie, (he met the President), but 1000's of fans travelled from all over the area to either see the match, or just get a glimpse of the team.

And the whole team did tons of community stuff; played blind football with a local disabled school team, cooked with the locals on the beach.

Read about it in a 2 page special in the MOS, (missus gets it for the magazine and puzzles ffs), but quite a splash we made out there.
Lad?

Wayne Rooney has an offer to return to Manchester United as an ambassador, despite his move to Everton.

The club’s all-time leading scorer has an open invitation to take up the new role when he eventually retires.

As part of the negotiations for Rooney's last United contract - signed in 2014 - an agreement was made with agent Paul Stretford that would see the striker handed an honorary role, similar to the one taken up by Sir Alex Ferguson.

But while former manager Ferguson is believed to earn in the region of £2m-year in his position, it is not known how much Rooney would be paid.

Other ambassadors can expect to earn closer to £100,000-a-year.

United are not contractually obliged to make Rooney an ambassador - but it is understood an offer is in place.

He can be an ambassador for Everton, Lukaku can be have it since the Chelsea fan has "always dreamed about playing for them"
