Everton "special" Talksport 9:00pm Monday 10th Aug 2015

I really don't understand all the negativity about TS. As for Stan Collymore, I've always thought he's one of the better pundits. Talked a lot of sense about the transfer window and the public tapping up and the effect it has on the players concerned

I detest TS - and the segways/adverts throughout tonight show it is for good reason. It's 99% dumb banter radio for the easily led.

Tonight though was very good. Credit where credit is due - not just for the Everton focus either; but for the passion for football and the presentation of the subject matter. Collymore was top class.

The hope from the dialogue would be that although both parties are diametrically opposed, the facility would be a useful one - and it would have been as it could have turned into a reliable and insightful communication channel with the club if developed properly.

Unfortunately, thanks to what they done, what we now have is a Limited Company who have no obligation and have all the reason they need to hire people like the clown we have now to be comms director and basically ignore the fans entirely.

Useful dialogue with a chairman that scammed then closed down AGM's ? Not a fkn chance of anything reliable or insightful coming for the fans from Bill, and that's before you consider Earl/Greens hold/input on any such process.

As to "what they have done", they reported verbatim on the content of a meeting that was agreed was not private and was arranged to be disclosed to be disclosed/disseminated to the fanbase afterwards:

The Chairman was aware that information from the meeting would be supplied to supporters. The only confidentiality exercised surrounds matters concerning the chairman’s private and family life, which he is clearly entitled to expect and we are equally happy to respect. The normal conversation expected between any football supporters has also been omitted. All three representatives concur that the following is a true and accurate report of what was discussed.

Mark, “If we have no money now, we won’t have money next summer…” Bill, “I’m with you; I’ll be your president……sell the club…did you write it down for me? Simon, “I’ve written it down for you Bill, Keith Harris is going to sell the club ” Bill, “well write this down as well, Citi Bank, Deutsche Bank, Leon Angel, Keith Harris, Amanda Staveley

Everton football club ignoring invites to talk about issues but watching fans every move on Twitter an Facebook an blacklisting them! #efc

Our comms director is less about communicating and more about silencing everyone who dares to rock the boat. Top way to run a football club that.

I'm not defending Kenwright mate - I'm suggesting what would have been the better way to deal with him.

As for whether they agree to distribute or not... maybe they should have got written permission to do so; then they could have published that permission or, better yet, got a PR boost by publishing the reason they were not given permission.

Basically, it was a dumb move - pretty much the only thing they could have done at the time to commit organisational suicide.

I'm having a guess from how he talked that he runs his own business, is probably a millionaire and is not unfamiliar with analysis and decision making based on logic in business.

Correct @the esk ?

.

He's a bit shy really  and probably won't answer that, but yea, he's a very astute businessman and not short of a few quid.
He's also not forgotten where he came from.

Makes a pretty good mod too !

The extracts in my post show they had permission, they've been published/held on several websites ever since the meeting without legal challenge from the club. There was also an email from Mark Rowan later admitting that the meeting content was open. What makes you think there was no permission ?

Talksport is basically the sun newspaper for people that can't read.... Listening tonight was embarrassing BUT I think we have a chance of a trophy if there is a thickest fans award going! COYB!!

I thought Stan Collymore was the business tonight....Christ, imagine if he was actually an Evertonian, it makes you think, where are all our ex-players who 'love the club'? Why aren't any of them arsed about the running of the club?

Good job @the esk
;)
