Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

….linked early in the window, Dyche regularly complaining that we fail to keep possession and this lad certainly looks the type to look after the football.

Doubt we have any monies, no idea how much he’d cost and reports he’s off to Spurs but he looks the part and hasn’t got his own thread ;)

Have to hope we are interested and the player wants the move.

Would be a great signing - doubly so for the amounts being suggested, lad is far more progressed than Onana was when he arrived (albeit 1 or 2 years older)

Him, Tim, Garner and Gueye would give us a midfield with options stronger than last season too.

It's a weird one because it would go against his previous stances on politics but at the same time when you read about how poor he was as a child and how much he invests in certain charities and causes, the money would be lifechanging for his family and community.

I still hold onto the hope he'll come back one day, don't ever see it happening sadly though. Think he'd actually really suit the system we use in the country too and his work rate would definitely fit Dyche.

Still think the Saudi stuff is coming from spurs end trying to force him out the club though.

Would be another set piece weapon too. Under Moyes we used to be a generally small team (although certain players good in the air like Cahill). Were now one of the tallest teams in the league, it counts for a lot even down to the psychology of lining up in the tunnel as a physically imposing team, and making every set piece difficult to defend with multiple possible targets.

The top teams have been doing it for ages Dias Stones Rodri Ake Gvardiol Haaland all massive. Arsenal similar with 4CBs along the back, Rice Partey holding and Havertz upfront.

Set pieces remain a huge difference maker in games.

It's difficult. Very difficult.

We need to sell DCL to get more players in. He wont go because he doesn't want to go.

This player is placing the club's future in jeopardy.

I think that's where we are now. Unless another club want to pay £25M-£30M - plus his reportedly astronomical wages - for a striker who guarantees them 5 or 6 goals per season we're stuck with what we have.
I thought everyone was saying he DID want to go?

If he stays he plays - its fine

Aye, if I remember correctly, arsenal at their best under Wenger had a decent bit of size about them too.

He wants to go, but on a free. That way he gets more money for his fruity outfits

You can’t accuse one player of putting the club’s future in jeopardy. The owner and his substandard directors have already done that.

Any player is going to go for the best deal for them, not for the club, because it’s a business not a sport.
He knows he hasn't delivered on the pitch and we need cash to sign more players, and we know he's looking for a free transfer next summer.

Draw your own conclusions.
