Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

This might just be a stop-gap that allows Dixon to go out on loan for a season. Could be the making of him.
100% I think thats what their plan is. Dixon isnt quite ready yet but maybe they think he can be next season. Bringing in a RB on loan lets you move Young to backup LB, and let Dixon go on loan.

If they go out on loan how often do they come back to us?

It'll be another Antonee Robinson.

Most of the time when they don't come back there's good reason for it. Antonee Robinson is one of the few that in hindsight it feels like a mistake to have let go. But we were shopping in a more premium place back then. Robinson was trying to break in during the back end of Baines career and the first few seasons of Digne. He wasn't good enough for us then, but of course I'd take him now (I still think Myko would be my preferred starter though).

And also, to throw an example of a loan being beneficial. You have Branthwaite.

Why would you deprive him of premier league experience?
Personally I don't think he's ready. I understand the worries about players going out on loan and then never being seen again but we as a club have to be the ones to change that. I think Roman is a decent player with incredible speed but still has a good amount to learn in terms of defending. A year with the first team might be the solution, a year out on loan might be the solution, luckily I'm not paid to make that decision!

Antonee Robinson seems to have become the argument for never ever letting anyone leave. The fact he's still the only go-to example of a player we shouldn't have let go suggests we've done pretty well in deciding who goes when, and for how much.

At 40 mill yes but if was at a good price and the lad impresses this season why not

I dont think he'd normally get in the team over Iroegbunam or Garner.

Beyond them we have Gana, Harrison and Doucoure.

We only need 4 central midfielders for 2 positions and next summer I'm hoping we have been pampered with Iroegbunam + Garner and have Armstrong pushing for minutes.

If that is the case, I'd prefer us to make either a progressive signing or a highly experienced signing.

I know no one wants him. But at this point in time, I don’t think a loan would be the worst thing in the world, particularly if Dom goes. We aren’t gonna have many options.

It depends if DCL gets sold for a decent fee.

If we could magic up a £25mil fee + the £7.5mil for Maupay then that £32.5mil could all go on one super player.

If he can play against spurs and emerge with a respectable performance, he should be given a proper chance in the premier league.

Playing against elite players will help developed at a faster pace.
