Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

We need a Saudi club to come in for Doucoure.

If we banked a £10m fee for selling him, and freed up the £120k p/w he is rumoured to be on, we could bring in two more loans and still be better off financially.

Ndiaye, Lindstrom and McNeil could share the burden at 10. Gana, Garner, Iroegbunam, Armstrong and Mangala would man the CM slots. We could bring in a wide man and something at fullback.

(Can't see us bringing in a CF unless DCL leaves for a decent fee).

Yes, Doucoure and even Keane - he would be so good in Saudi cos he'll probably also score 10-15 goals a season from set pieces and his long-range efforts. Someone get on to Keane and his agent to sell him this idea please lol And does not need pace

Don't think dyche would of let him leave, supposedly Saudi teams have made offers for Doucoure and gana with us rebuffing their offers

Valid points but Is dcl going to offer us anything goalwise until then that actually makes the difference?

Yes. He's a better centre forward than the alternative, Beto. The Derby MOTM performance vs Liverpool - just a few of them which I don't think Beto could come close to a season makes the difference.

If we sell Calvert-Lewin for £12m, and start Beto tomorrow an he gets a knock - we wouldn't have an actual centre forward.

If we can get a decent fee/player swap then I understand the gamble, but we can't get worse in the final third and whatever your opinion of him - losing him for £12m without any replacement is us getting worse.

In our position, succession planning is absolutely vital.

That’s ultimately where we differ. There is a very real chance we go down with this squad, so buying players who may make the first team in 1-2 years is not a priority.

With limited funds, you spend it on the area(s) that most need attention right now. Most blues believe the area most in need of attention is the attack.

To have not prioritised those positions is incompetence. To have chosen to spend £16m on a 3rd choice CB (no matter how good he may transpire to be) is unforgiveable.
