Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

Was very impressed with the Palace centre half Lacroix today, looks a very, very good influential player.

…..funny enough, my son said exactly the same thing when we were walking back to the car ;), interesting what @Alan Whittle thinks. I thought Guehi had a very good first half, I can see why big boys are circling.

I was disappointed with Eze, I know he’s easy on the eye but he never applied himself to the game. Wharton with a few nice touches but was another who drifted out.

Here's a question: Why didn't the club go after Joel Matip who left the RS at the end of his contract? A more than acceptable centre back, settled in Liverpool, completely free, at least 10 times better than Michael Keane and with plenty of Premier League experience that ought to have satisfied Dyche.

A two-year contract would have been a no-brainer and would have allowed us to spend that £15m O'Brien money on full backs.

Maybe because he's not very good, old and injury prone?

They have some good players and he really caught my eye, he was really, really good, looked high quality, good reader of the game, very game and showed some real leadership trying to get Palace up the pitch and score - had never heard or seen him before, but was very impressed.

Palace really impressed me the first half, i liked Wharton, he really pressed and hit one or two lovely balls - don't know what happened to them second half they really just shut off or maybe we just took control of the game and the press wasn't as effective. We dropped Illy back to flood and to make a midfield three at times and i think that helped not getting over run.

Lacroix's best game so far, has taken time to settle but improving with every game. Guehi has shown the odd sign of inconsistency this season but getting back to his best. Hopefully with Chalobah, signed on loan from Chelsea but yet to play, will make a pretty formidable back three.
Neither Wharton or Eze have been anywhere near their levels of last season. Wharton was carrying a minor groin strain left over from England duty early on but is now fit apparently. He looks like he needs a rest. Eze is being asked to play on the left when really he should have a free role in the centre. He, like Wharton never had a proper break because of England duty and also needs a rest.

Nketiah out on the wing seems a weird one mate.
