Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

it makes perfect sense from the everton point of view due to our financial woes

imagine pocketing 80 mil in the last week of the transfer window and then getting in a loan defender and trying to convince the fanbase that they tried to hard to get a replacement but it was so tough with there being insufficient time to conduct a deal for a player who fits the "Everton" way etc....
For me, if we keep Branthwaite it seems a sure midtable finish without drama. If we sell him then Im concerned whether we can truly bring in the right players to do so. Hes our safety blanket this season. Plus, if we get mid-table that may be worth +18m in profit in Pl performance payments. Assuming he has another great season and raises his value even more, keeping him could earn us 30-40m.

Usually I'd agree, but they're usually screwing over other German clubs. They paid 100 million Euros for Kane who only had 1 year to EFT on his contract. I'd be hopeful of getting £50 to £60 million for Onana which would surely mean we'd be ok for PSR.
Unless something is crazy on this years books, it seems we dont need to do anything for PSR, instead all of our sales are just to fund the stadium for Moshiri so he doesnt have to.

By my non-esk calculations we should be able to have a loss of up to 74m on the 23/24 books and be fine and with where we finished we should be 30-40m below that.

His 80m fee pays our bills for 4months.

Do people still not realise that for the last 8months 777 have loaned us 20m a month to pay our bills.

In 4 days time they go away and it becomes our problem.

At some point, people really need to remove their head from the sand.
You also realise that this 20mill a month has been to pay for BMD mostly... lots of histerical posts over this 20mill a month stuff. Ain't no way we need this 20mill a month on top of the 180mill a year we get... you realise that means our outgoings would be over 400mill a year based on this. Impossible. The accounts don't show us losing over 200mill each year.

It's been for stadium build. Be realistic. Once the stadium is built we won't need that 20mil a month.

Just think is time for onana to go would be great to build a team around him but club is not in that position. Think the manager is hapoy move on and the lad himself wants to step up to a better team aswell. Dcl for me is a must stay i font trust who we bring in to replace him, agree with you on gnonto the problem is the price they want for him if we can get a good deal then have more room to risk with him. The lad does have talent is still a kid so is not all there on the pitch atm
Onana wouldn’t cost anything to replace really, he’s been average and probably worse than all our other midfielders, Amy profit on him would be a bonus.
We will struggle to bring in any decent forwards, can’t see DCL going to Newcastle to sit on a bench.

I did make another post regarding that.
12x20m is 240m.

We had an operating loss of 40m last accounts and our debt has only increased since then.

Sure we have revenue, which we got in August, which we probably spent in August, the Stadium is costing us huge money each month and until its finished and we can attempt to mortgage the debt, the costs will be coming out of our pocket.

The club isnt due for any incoming revenue till the TV money drops in August, every year we get a bridging loan to cover the period of no income from now till August.

A very interesting and very important few months coming up for this football club.

Hopefully it passes off without major incident and we can celebrate how we managed to keep our star players.

Im very much a DOOMER and really hope im wrong, but I see no way out of this mess that doesnt involve selling everybody and anybody worth a fee.
But once the Stadium is built, it still needs paying for, we dont just finish the Stadium and everything is fine.

Nobody has any idea what the interest payments are on all the loans we have.

But currently, May 2024, the Stadium is not finished and from what we are led to believe, it still needs considerable funding to complete.

The future will look brighter once the ownership farce is settled and the Stadium is finished and earning.

Im sorry for my DOOMER outlook, but I dont see any light at the end of the Everton tunnel, not yet.

4 goals in 68 PL games.

He was my shout from last week and I got slaughtered for it.

But there was a good explanation in commentary yesterday about his time in the PL last time compared with this season in the Championship: he hit less than 20% of his shots inside the box in PL appearances, while this season he's been told to get forward more and he's shot twice as much from inside the 18 yard box - something like 40% of his efforts in the box.

Of course the PL has superior defences, but I'd like to see us get hold of Armstrong and pair him with Beto or Chermiti. No doubt he'll stay at Southampton now, but I bet Dyche would love to have the option of going to a two up front next season with a similar player and finish off more of the chances we create.
