Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

Everton have launched a bid of £25.5m to sign Portuguese midfielder Florentino Luis from Benfica, according to Correio de Manha.

In page 11 of the Portuguese publication’s 31 May edition, journalist Antonio Pereira reports that Florentino is the subject of an opening bid from Everton, but that Benfica president Rui Costa is seeking an additional £8.5m.

The 24-year-old is among several defensive midfield options on Sean Dyche’s shopping list, and has played 38 times in all club competitions for the Liga Portugal runners-up this season.

Pereira notes: “Rui Costa intends to receive another 10 million [euros].

“Benfica are open to negotiating [for] the 24-year-old midfielder, but for a price he considers fair. Florentino has a contract until 2027 and a release clause of 120 million euros.”

Sounds like the Portuguese chaps are stirring the pot a bit here. I'd be gobsmacked if anyone paid over £15mil for him.

If we look at the price Palace signed Wharton for (a superior and younger English player) I just lose interest in this player quite quickly.

Awesome , another defensive player , I wonder which defensive number 9 we will target after this signing

Richie + £20 million for Onana?

No, Richy was over rated by many of the fan base , he gets the odd goal but his general play in possession is very poor, he slows attacks as he doves for a free kick constantly when he should stay on his feet on counters and try to exploit the space .

He has moved to spurs , who not a title challenging team and are not even top 4 and has proved he is not good enough.

Walks right back into this team very easily would not say odd goal when he get double figures for us most seasons. But well is your view on him is fair, i would not put him as a talent as rooney ect but was a good player for us imo

Never seen Leeds play? Sorry Zat wrong again, we get the championship live for free here in Oz, watched quite a bit of Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday and ipswich this season.

One day you might take your head out of the clouds and realise where we are as a club and the best we will get without new ownership is current players, loans and frees plus one or maybe two Beto/chermiti type deals
Where can u watch the championship for free in Oz?

I actually read that as Matt Ritchie (given Onana has been linked to Newcastle in the past).

Anyone take him as he's on a free. Came on as a sub for Newcastle regularly in the run in and another option to cover the left side.

He actually had a spell of 9 goals in 10 games in the prem between 10th Dec and 3rd Feb so in far better form than the disaster of his first spell at Spurs. Two injuries in the run in disrupted things.

That front three of Richy-DCL-Gordon for a few months under Lampard feels a decade ago now. Some actual pace in the final third that could get the team up the pitch quickly.
